Ltc training

HI everyone,
I'm wondering if there a LTC facillity in Memphis,Tn or surronding areas that train employees to become a CNA?

Check with Graceland Manor. They used to have a CNA training program, but I'm not sure if they still do. Also, the VA hospital used to have a program where if you volunteered for them for about 5 or 6 weeks (basic stuff like directing visitors, wheeling discharges out, etc) they would put you through their 5-week CNA program at no charge.

You could also try TN Technology Center. Their CNA program is 5 weeks and is relatively inexpensive (I think about $300). Do NOT fall for the Concorde Career Institute "Patient Care Tech" program or whatever they're calling it these days. $10,000 for a glorified 9-month CNA program.

I just did a check on the TN Board of Nursing website. This is the page for approved CNA programs in Shelby County:

http://health.state.tn.us/HCF/NurseA...?CountyCode=79

The ones that are nursing homes are Applingwood Health Care Center and Court Manor.
