Does anyone know if Loewenberg (Memphis) has a waiting list?

If you are not accepted, you may be put onto an alternate list (they will send you a letter and let you know). However, each semester you must reapply. The last few semesters they have been accepting approximately 150 students. I think the alternate list is usually about 70 people, and it all depends on whether or not spots open up.

Well, I personally think that almost all nursing schools are competitive since there are so many people that want to get it. Especially here in Memphis.

However, given the fact that Memphis has been accepting around 145-155 students for each new class, if your GPA is pretty good then you have a good chance of being accepted. I always recommend that people write an essay, even if one is not required. It gives the acceptance board a chance to get to know you, know why you want to go to nursing school, and allows to you explain anything that needs to be addressed (such as a failed class, or low grades). I think it is worth trying no matter what, because you never know what the applicant pool may be like. Plus, they do have the alternate list. I would say go for it, even if you are unsure. You can always turn them down if you decide it is not for you.

Good luck!
