I 'm from S. Miss.-Would I fit with yall in TN?

by wandaeh

Was wondering because I've been treated like an outsider for the 5 years we have lived in MO. Recently got a diploma in dental assisting. Was told in first interview that I wouldn't fit in with the people of MO. I am a mature woman and can't compete with the eyecandy the dentists seem to want. Wasted money on that course. Am so ready to leave this place. I think I'm just as good as they are, probably better because I judge a person by their character not where they're from.
Somebody please tell me how the majority of people would see me. I really don't want to jump from the frying pan into the fire. I speak with a country, southern accent, like gardening, have and love my chickens and do not pretend to be something I'm not. Would I have a problem with this if I move to middle TN, go to school and try to get a nursing job? Or do I need to go further south? Thanks to any who reply because I need honest answers.

Wandaeh, come on to middle TN!! I'm from NY and I'm doin' fine! Actually I love it here. There are people from all over the south living here, as well as from everywhere else. You'd have nothing to worry about.

Hey, doll, come on down! We have all sorts of accents here in Tennessee. Plenty of twang to go around. If you want to keep chickens, don't move to Franklin or Brentwood in middle Tennessee. Fairview, Ashland City, Gallatin & Lebanon might be more of your cup of tea.

It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round, & middle TN certainly has them! I live in the Chattanooga area these days...we have lots of interesting folks here, too!

Good luck to you as you consider moving,

Nurse Looking at area s. of Columbia and Lewisburg area
I've had a garage sale, gonna have 2 more before we move and sell the biggest furniture. Been to the areas mentioned in title and got a general feel for the area. Nobody asked "Where are you from?", thought that was a good sign.
