Does anyone know if we will receive an email one way or the other? Or only if we're offered a position?

Is anyone else playing the "What if?" game in their heads? Lol. Like....what if I didn't answer the question to my fullest ablitly, what if I could have given a better example, what if my answer wasn't what they were looking for, and the big one...WHAT IF I DON'T GET IN. When I left my interview I felt good about it, now after thinking about it and breaking it down....I don't feel the same.

yea i'm the same way. I mean there were so many panel members so really whether your answer was liked or not depends on the opinions of the panel members. Like maybe something you said wasn't liked by your panel members but would have been liked by different panel members? It's just kind of strange. It seems very random. I keep going back to my original application because the interview is only worth half your total score. I know that my application isn't as strong as others because of my GPA so if they don't think my interview was great, I won't get chosen. I guess we will all know in a few weeks. If I get chosen I just don't know what I will do. I'll be so dissappointed if I don't but I am trying to prepare myself for the worst.

Angel RN 1 - Ya, my GPA isn't strong either. How many panel members did you have? I had two (one a nurse educator and two a nurse manager). I wish I knew more about the point system they use. I really wanted to know how many people applied. Cause they only took 200ish for interviews. And then I wanted to know out of that how many they took. Lol. I had a peds interview, so here I am thinking "how many interview can you really do in four mondays in 10 hours?" Lol.

Jenn,

I had 3 panel members. I dont believe any were managers. one of the ladys worked at vanderbilt childrens. you would think that they would have matched the panel up according to what area the person wanted to go into, but that didn't seem to be the case. Now that poses another question, I wonder if all the people that applied for the peds track only had two panel members and if all the adult applicants had three? if not I'm not sure if having more panel members scoring you is necessarily a good thing. Now i'm even more nervous. Yea I couldn't get any answers about number of applicants vs number of interviewees or number of interviewees vs number of positions. We will just have to be surprised I guess. I want to just go hypernate and not wake up until its time for us to find out because I am driving myself crazy thinking about it everyday.

I know what you mean. That is weird. Why would a peds nurse interview for an adult position, hmmmm...I think it matters a little bit, but in a good way. Because if you have three members...you have three people giving their input on you, cause only they were the ones interviewing you. I only had two to speak for me. But, having a third wheel person could give you that edge you need to put you in. But it probably goes by who is availble to interview at that time...because you need managers on the units too working and managers who want their days off too, lol.

I had three people for an adult track interview... and one was a manager.

Looking back, there will always be questions where I stumbled on my words, gave examples that required them to draw out further information, etc... but I don't know how much things like that affect it. I wonder how many points are available total... or even how much GPA is weighted. Oh well. What're we now? 2 to 3 weeks out? I hope the interview point system is as fair as ***** says it is... 'cause it sounds like they're using a lot of different people to interview and that can affect things... but ***** insisted to me that the system is very fair...

yea i'm sure it is as fair as it can be for people giving their opinions of what you said. there were so many out of towners who applied, I can't imagine how you guys are feeling who don't live here now. I mean a few weeks is going to determine a big life change for you. At least i'm already here in the nashville area. Thats nice that you will have some time though and wont have to start until the end of jan after the holidays and such. I think if i can make it through this week at least it will be november and I will know that our answer is approaching. huuuuh I just don't ladies.
