Hepatitis scare

by sassyr

Our office has been bombarded with calls from people who ate at the O'Charley's, they aren't very happy about being sent to the health department though. Can't understand why they can't get their vaccine here. Anyone else getting any calls? Sassyr

hey sassyr,

I am figuring the health dept required them to come to them so they can control it should it become epidemic status. Then the health dept will have personal information and what not on these pt's that were exposed and hopefully be able to trace things and investigate things should anything else arise. thats the only thing i can think of that would require them to go to the health dept instead of a dr's office. its all legalities i believe with public health. take care, Tracy

Yes, that was the reason and we tried to tell them that but they just couldn't understand why they had to go that far to get a vaccine. Glad it is over now! Now it is full speed ahead on those flu vaccines!! sassyr
