help-looking for BSN or ASN program in Knoxville

Hello all,

I will move to Knoxville in a few monthes and going to apply BSN or ASN program in knoxville (or close to that area) this fall semester.

Is there anyone know some schools in this area? Any information is appreciated.

As I know, UT just cut their budget this year and had done with the application pocess.

How about RSCC and TWC? Anyone knows? I didn't get reply from them.

How about South College? Their BSN program require 188 credits. Other schools usually require around 128 credits.

Any idea about C-N BSN program and LMU ASN program?

Any suggestion please is welcomed.
Thank you in advance!

You've already missed the deadline for RSCC, I'm not sure about the others.

Are you starting from scratch or do you already have some pre-reqs? Also South College runs on quarters not semesters so it may not actually be more classes and only look that way due to the quarters vs. semesters.

Thank you for your reply.

I took some CLEP test, such as ENG, CHEM, SOC,etc.
If I can get into the program, I can finish Anatomy, Microbiology and other pre-courses in summer.

I do want to enroll the program this fall!
Any suggestion?
Thank you.

Not to say it's not possible at all but summer pre-reqs, due to the shortern time frame tend to run long hours each day, I don't think you can finish the pre-reqs needed over the summer, IMHO.

Check out this link from PSTCC it lists all the prereqs need of area schools. http://www.pstcc.edu/departments/cur...er/nursing.pdf

South College is not there but it's prereqs are:

Algebra
Stats
Medical Law and Ethics

A&P 1 and Lab
A&P 2 and Lab
Pathophysiology
Micro
Chemistry and Lab
Organic Chem and Lab

2 Englishes
Public Speaking

General Psych
Human Growth and Devel
Abnormal Psych
Soc

Nutrition

OMG, that's a lot.
Like Organic Chem, Abnormal Psych, Medical Law and Ethics and pathophysiology are not required by other colleges.

Is that mean this program is harder than other schools'?

Thank you.

I can't answer that as I haven't attended any of these programs yet :-)

As I have plans to continue to the NP or PA level. I personally don't mind the extras as they are needed by many of the masters level program as pre-reqs.

Hopefully someone can comment as to the degree of difficulties of Knoxville area programs. I believe all nursing programs are somewhat difficult though and have strict grading policies compared to say a liberal arts degree.
