Graduate Nurse Opportunities (Knoxville/Nashville)

by cnolan

Hello! My name's Charity and I'm currently living in Pennsylvania, looking to relocate to TN after I graduate on May 1st, so I'm planning on leaving after the sale of my house and all, so most likely somewhere in the June-July vicinity. Does anyone know of any hospitals that accept new RN's or GN's? I've been looking and looking...but it seems that not many of your state's hospitals accept nurses without experience! If anyone who works at a hospital that could give me any information, I'd be EXTREMELY EXTREMELY grateful! You can email me at cnolan7263@hotmail.com if you've got any information! Thanks in advance, all!

All hospitals in the Nashville area hire new RN grads. You should have no problem getting a job. Good Luck. Looking forward to having a new Tennessean here !

Hello Charity,
I, like yourself plan on moving to Knoxville after I take the NCLEX in May from Texas. I've already spoken with UTMC- dont know new name, and Covenant which owns all the Fort Sanders in the area. I have an interview set up in March for the up coming intern programs that start at the end of May or the beginnig of June. If you go to www.covenantcareers.com you can find out alot of info on the different types of intern programs and what each hospital offers. When your at the website, if you want to apply just select the graduate 2005 nurse and it will allow you to fill out your application without having to select a position. After this, you need to call the nurse recruiter and set up an interview. On the website it says they are interviewing at the end of MArch for the different intern positions, but I do believe they also do phone interviews. On the down side, I know money isnt everything, but KNoxville pays ALOT less than what new grads make where I'm at. The hospital that partners with our University starts new grads at 22/hr, Tenn its 16.5/hr.... BIG DIFFERENCE, so dont be shocked when you start looking and the pay seems low. IT IS. Let me know if you need more info.
