GPA Calculations

Hello wonderful allnurses community I have a questions concerning how different nursing programs calculate you're GPA to get in. The reason I ask is my GPA for my pre-reqs is a lot higher than my cumulative GPA. There are several factors including changing majors a few times (dad was not happy about me wanting to be a nurse because I'm a "man" but anyway that is another story). Does every school look at every thing you have taken or do they place more emphasis on your pre-reqs? Depending on what is needed for different AS programs I have anywhere from a 3.3 - 3.5 in, overall my GPA is unfortunately in the mid 2's.
