blackballed

Sorry for taking so long to reply and for the generic question, am unsure of exactly what I need to do.Several years ago I was fired from 1 of the 2 big healthcare systems in our area .I was doing a lab draw on a homeless pt whom I already knew was Hep C postive when the order came in for HIV bloodwork.The pt shared a rm with another pt and when I got thru with drawing the blood ; the pt grabbed my hand and scratched me with the cath.I said the first thing on my mind which was that the pt had better hope they were not postive,so the pt claimed I violated HIPPA and I was let go. They didn't contest me drawing unemployment but they advertize all the time for nurses and altho this was several years ago,I am never asked to come for a job interview. I have called the hosp system's HR and after many days have been told the postion has been filled. I am currently employed and love my job but looking for prn work due to my husband losing his job so that is the only reason I even ask.

Thanks for your help.Its embarrassing to even talk about and the only timeI've ever had a problem since I have been a nurse. My bosses there told me how much they hated it and that I was an excellant nurse and hard worker but it was time for state to come in and I think that played a big vpart in the decision.
