Any aesthetic nurses here in TN?

Would love to chat with any of the aesthetic nurses out there, who own thier own busines or those who work for a derm or a plastic surgeon that perform Botox, Restylane, chemical peels, laser hair removal, etc...

Also, any nurses out there who perform sclerotheapy under the guidance of a physician?

Would love to chat with you, or even set up a meeting here in TN where we could have lunch, discuss and share ideas.
Kind Regards,
Tanya RN

I am not in TN but would love to know what school you attended. I cannot find any info on quality of schools. Can you tell me what school you went to and what the certification process entails. Thanks

I am going to be doing sclerotherapy, assisting with mico-phlebectomy, EVLT, and soon laser hair/tatoo removal, chemical peels, botox, derma fillers, etc. for a private clinic inside a medical hospital/clinic. I have been training but I personally want to be a certified nurse aesthetic specialist. I have been researching seminars and different affiliations.

Would you by chance know were and if I should invest in becoming certified if I can practice being trained under a physician? There are several different organizations and if I am going to invest $$$ I want to be recognized throughout the country since I do take travel assignments frequently.

I would really Appreciate any well informed responses!! thanks, shellek

by the way I am currently in KS but often take assignment LasVegas & FL.

You can check out

I am not affiliated with them but it would be a good start.

Feel free to PM me sometime so we can talk about your endeavors.
I am working as an Independant contractor performing Botox, dermal fillers and dermaplaning. I am brushing up on my sclero skills and can include chemical peels when I feel little more comfortable with them.

Thanks Tanya RN !! I checked out AMEN and am now a member, I am also going back to Vegas for a mesotherapy certification workshop. I am working in a clinic and would like to eventually work like you-as an independant contractor. I have priced becoming cert. in all areas Botox, derma fillers, lasers, etc. it is in the 7-8,000 range !! Is this all necessary and/or do you know of other ways or workshops that are cheaper. That was through aei . . . . When I was hired, the clinic told me they would train me, however I don't just want to be trained I want to be credentialed as a medical aesthetician. Does this even really affect pay for me later??? Since many aestheticians (6 months of training) verses RN-BSN (4 years of schooling) really matter. The clinic will "train" me under their skills I just will not be certified. Am I making too big of a deal about this as they NOW will not pay for courses---hired with my understanding they would, now they are specifying training vs. certification....??? I am just deciding on the investment. Lipodissolve is a done deal..should I continue paying for own cert.'s ? Asking your opinion, Shellek

I was trained in Radiesse last month from the rep in the office. We provided the models. They got their treatments for free and we were the injectors with the rep guiding us through. I am sure Allergan and Medicis does this as well. All the reps from the differnet companies have training materials.

Hi. so glad to find this topic. I'm returning to school - hopefully to an accelerated 19 mo. BSN. still vascillating between going back to sales or holding out a year until the next nursing program...until I read this info about aesthetic nurses. Here's my questions:

- how does one go about becomming an independent contractor?
- are aesthetic nurses allowed to administer botox, etc.?
- how many years of nursing experience does it take to work as a n.a.?
-my hairdresser just left for Colorado to get a medical aesthetician certification; will she have the same job as the nurse aes.?
- which states have the most work for nurses who specialize in this area?
-what is the income potential?

I am living in Katrina-land where everything is one bing question, so I am full of them! If anyone can answer these, I'd really appreciate it.
