This is the question that I would like answered as well. A typical weekend shift may involve 13 patient calls, with associated calls totaling 53 calls (calls to lab, pharmacy, patient, etc to resolve issue) per 8 hour shift. Is this typical and/or safe? Are these numbers similar to yours?

From what I hear (from a colleague who is an asst mgr of our pediatric call ctr), a triage-only center may expect 4-6 calls per hour, with all appropriate documentation of the call included in that 10-15 minute time period.
