Yikes (First Teas Practice Test)

Nursing Students TEAS

Well I did pretty darn well in every section BUT science. I knew that would be my hardest subject because I HATE cell biology, and I can't remember jack about balancing equations and all that. Thank goodness I am taking chem 1 & 2 this fall. Anyways, 33% in science, and 58% overall score. Please tell me I can actually retain the nitty gritty for the science portion! I am going to take the Teas V at the end of the year. If I can't brush up on basics by then I probably should forget it! ;) I have the Teas V package.

I raised my TEAS scores quite a bit after taking my first practice test just to assess my knowledge AND test-taking ability. Part (but not all) of the TEAS is learning to the test.

My advice on science is study well beyond the level of the TEAS test manual. The actual TEAS is more detailed. There are several good posts on AN that tell in detail how to study. Find 'em and read 'em. Make a study plan, make it your No. 1 priority and stick to it. I went from the mid 70s taking the practice test cold to the mid 90s in the actual test and got accepted at both schools where I applied. I think you can do it if you work hard. Reading comprehension was the tough one for me because it seemed so subjective!

I just found kahn academy. I really think this will be the key to my doing well, I already am in love with the site!
