I took the TEAS V last Friday (paper and pencil) and just got my results today.
84% overall
88.1% Reading
90% Math
75% Science YIKES!
86.7% English & Language Usage
I have to take TEAS IV on Monday, since one of the schools I applied for only wants version 4. So bummed that I have to take it again, but now that I know my weak subject is science, my goal is to get nothing less than a 90% overall. Has anyone else taken both versions? If so, do you have any advice for version 4?
That's odd. My scores will be made available right after I finish the test. Why do y'all have to wait for your scores??
Some of us had to take a paper and pencil exam. The exams are then mailed to Kansas, (where ATI is located,) for scoring. My score took one week to be posted.

For having taken TEAS V, I think your scores are quite competitive, good job :)
Thank you very much. =)
I just took version IV this morning, and I scored an 86.5% overall... a little better than I did on version V (84%).
Here's the breakdown:
Reading: 100%
Math : 80%
Science: 83%
English: 81%
These scores reflect an improvement in science and reading, but a drop in math and English. Go figure. Now, I'm playing the waiting game to see which program accepts me. I applied to LA County (my first choice,) Glendale, and Moorpark.

I just took the TEAS V and I only used the Mcgraw-Hill book from 2008-2009 that I found online in a PDF for free. I am guessing that the ATI book probably does a better job in showing you how the questions are worded, because alot of the questions on the test seemed harder than in the Mcgraw-Hill book I used. I will break it down like this:
Reading I am strong in,but on the test there are alot of questions where 2 or even 3 of the answers could actually be right(somebody else mentioned this in another TEAS V thread).
Math I am very strong in and got a 90. But I was surprised at how they made a simple question harder than it needed to be. Oh yeah,by the way I did have basic geometry on my test. I have seen alot of people saying it wasn't on there. I had about 4 questions.
Spelling is easy,like 3 questions.
Vocab(synonyms) had about 7 questions. 2 of the exact questions for vocab were already mentioned in one of these TEAS V threads and another 3 came straight out of the Mcgraw-Hill book.
Science I am terrible at, I got a 58. I didn't even bother trying to learn chemistry or physics in the short time I had. I knew my strong scores on the rest of the test would be enough for the school I am going too. I did study some anatomy and biology from the book. Some of the exact questions for anatomy and the cells came right out of the Mcgraw-Hill book.
If anybody has questions, go ahead and ask. I just registered, so I don't think that I have enough posts to PM.

I took the TEAS V last Friday, my overall score was 90% ... awesome! The ATI study guide was great, it's pretty much all I used to prepare for the test.
Oooh, I just noticed this is my 1,000th post! Nice :)

Hey can you message me on here so i can ask u some questions :) thank you
Hello everyone. I took my TEAS V exam on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. It is a very reasonable exam. The chemistry on it is not difficult at all - just playing the numbers game with balancing equations. The math is also very easy too. My advice is to read carefully. It's all about how it is worded. I scored in the 97th percentile nationally and I have to say, I purchased the review book but it wasn't very helpful. Please do not waste the $40.00 - I highly advise to purchase only if you have not done math or science in a very long time.Good luck everyone and I hope this information was helpful!-Miggs

Well, I just got back from taking the TEAS V. I'm pretty disappointed with my results after seeing the above posts stating in the 80-90% range. I got a 76% overall. I only needed a 58% for my program, but I really wanted to at least be in the 80% range.
I took version 4 in August, and got a much better score (85%) but that was without the Science portion, because that particular school was for LPN and did not require the science score.
I studied for both tests using the ATI Version V manual. I bought and took both online practice tests before taking Version 4 in August, and I did a lot better on those than I did on the Version V today. I also used the 2 practice tests in the back of the book, and scored slightly higher on those compared with my real score on Version V.
To be quite honest, I studied for about a week for the Version 4 using the Version V manual in August, so when I found out that I would have to re-take the test for this new school I'm applying to and it would be Version V, I felt that I did not need to study that much more, since I felt really prepared for Version 4. I was definitely wrong! I was pretty shocked at the level of difficulty on the reading portion, which is usually a breeze for me (I still got a 90%, but it was more challenging than the study guide). Math is always the hardest for me, and if I would have studied longer, I would have done better. I actually found the Science portion to be pretty dead on to what I studied in both the manual, and using this school's science powerpoint's: http://www.science-class.net/Teachers_Slideshows.htm#LifeScience (unfortunately, I have a HUGE problem retaining science information, so everything I studied was on the test but I couldn't remember the answers- awesome.) Spelling/Language was the easiest part. If I wouldn't have bombed the science so bad (56%) I could've reached my goal in the 80's, but...oh well. I HIGHLY recommend reading through every single one of those powerpoints I posted above, because almost all of those subjects were covered in the science section (not so much earth science/rocks, like on the version 4). Good luck everyone!

Funny how I experienced the opposite. My scores in reading for the practice tests ranged from 73 to 80 but on the actual test I scored a 90. There is one passage in one of the study manual tests involving a UFO that I totally bombed with the questions. On the real test however the passages were quite straightforward and the questions were too. I thought the reading in the manual and practice tests were harder.

I am so hoping this is the case for me too. I am scheduled to take this tomorrow morning and have been studying with the ATI manual for about 2 weeks. I've taken the manual's practice tests over and over and am still scoring only in the mid to upper 80's. I just can't seem to grasp the whole theme/topic thing. I am so frustrated because I've always had really great English grades.
The school I'm applying to only looks at the reading scores but they cut off at 80% on the applications, so I NEED to get a decent score tomorrow. Wish me luck!
