TEAS Test V Study Guides?

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Hey everyone,

I will be taking the TEAS Test V this upcoming May and I was just wondering if those of you who have taken it or on the road to taking the test can recommend any study guides/manuals? My school recommends the TEAS Test V Study Manual from the ATI site. I'm planning on getting the Manual by itself or the package which includes 2 online assessments along with the manual. However, I'm still kind of iffy about the package since it's $88. I'm not sure if the online assessments are worth it or is the manual enough? Also, I heard that there are other useful study guides. McGraw-Hill being one of them.

If any of you have any recommendations or comments, please feel free to let me know. Thank you in advance!

What?! That's crazy! But good looking out girl. I'll check out the library. You're talking about the manual by ATI right? Also, did you buy anymore helpful books other than the one you bought? I've heard a lot about the Mcgraw-Hill's Nursing School Entrance Exams book. A majority said that also helped them.

Yes, the one I found @ my library is the ATI manual! No, I have not purchased any other books, but have checked out a couple of the "Nursing School Entrance Exam Books" from the library. I've just started reading them so they are nothing to compliment about yet. I found on here (allnurses) a link to download that Mcgraw-Hill's book.... I can't remember the link but if you give me your email I can send you the download! Could you rent the ATI book like other college books????

I also know that my flaw is the writing & grammar part of the test so I have been checking out books from the library for these topics.

The ATI practice tests were very helpful I thought. The more practice the better, and the rationals are good too. The ATI book was the only one I used, and I scored in the 90's.

I went online to check if some books about the TEAS are available at the library and fortunately, I found one. I checked the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" by McGraw-Hill yesterday. There are 3 copies of the book by ATI at 3 libraries. Unfortunately, they're all checked out so I'm in the waiting list. Hopefully it'll be available soon so I don't have to buy it and spend extra money. Trying to save up here, haha. Anyway, I don't think I need the download since I already have the book. But if it is a different one by McGraw-Hill, then here is my email: [email protected]

Thanks in advance girl! I really appreciate it :). Also, I'm pretty sure you can rent the ATI book. I checked out Chegg and it is available.

Thanks for the feedback! :) Congrats on your score, hopefully I get the same! Haha. I'm trying to prepare myself as much as I can. Also, are you talking about the practice tests that are included in the book by ATI or the online ones?

I started studying about a week before I took the TEAS, but right after I finished my bio and chem finals, so the info from those classes was still pretty fresh. I only used the ATI study manual and the online practice tests through ATI. The practice exams at the back of the book are MUCH easier than the online ones. I scored a 76 on the online tests, but a 93 on the actual exam. I'd put the actual exam to be somewhere between the book tests and the online tests in terms of difficulty. Make sure you take your time during the math section and double check all your work. There is a lot of tedious multiplication, addition, decimals, etc. and you don't want to lose points because you didn't double check your answers! Good luck!

I'm taking mine after I'm finished with my last pre-reqs which are A&P II and Microbio, so hopefully most of the info will stick. But thank you so much for your feedback! :) Since you said that you used the ATI study manual and ATI online practice tests, I'm assuming you bought the package? I know the package includes both A and B online assessments. Do you mind telling me if there's a big difference between A and B? Because I'm only planning on getting one of the assessments, that's if there isn't a lot of major differences between the two.

Could you send me a copy to McGraw-Hill download?

THANKS

I actually only took one of the assessments. I had a friend who bought two, but only took one so she let me use her second one. I'm gonna guess they are pretty similar, but it couldn't hurt to take both!
