TEAS ?

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

I take my TEAS test in a week and few days.... so I am studying my butt off and reading everything I can. But I have to say I am confused on the whole set up. I heard its computerized and its 170 questions over a 3 hour period.

I also heard to get the ATI study manual and if I know the information in it- I will do fine. But as I am reading others post I see that just may not be the case. It seems like there is a chance of the test having more chemistry and science than is covered in the study manual ( I am using Version 5). Are the TEAS different according to state or just at random? I guess I am worried that if I focuses on the study guide I will get to test day and there will be other questions I do not know ( such as Chemistry-- I am not schedule to take until December). There is so much in each field that can be studied , I guess I am not sure what to study and what not to study. I did find a sticky note (https://allnurses.com/teas-exam-help/how-i-studied-531994.html) that listed suggestions on what to study but that was over a year ago and alot can change...

I also read on one of the post about the grading that is a study question is on there I don't get a point for it... is that the practice questions ( after each section) in the book or the ones in the practice test...

LOL.. Sorry if I seem psycho, its not that just severely stressed and worried.... I hate to be a pain....

Thank you all !!!!

I just took the TEAS test almost 3 weeks ago. The link to the sticky you posted seems right on target with regards on what to study. To get into my program one needs to score a 64. I scored a 63.3. So, I'm taking it again this Wednesday. Good luck to you!! I think I'm more nervous this time around!!

If you are talking about the post I made about the ungraded study questions on the TEAS, it's just a few questions each section ask you that are not graded. You will never know what questions are not graded it's just mixed in with your other questions... Idk why ati does it- if it's some kind of research they are doing, but they do it....

And in my experience, I did not have any question on my TEAS exam that I didn't get to study in my study guide. I just had a hard time understanding chemistry so I seemed additional help. It was mostly balancing equations or figuring out a given elements atomic number or atomic mass...

We have to score 75 % in order to get accepted.... Good luck to you ;)

(Since this is a response to a TEAS question, it may not appear on-line for a while.)

grneyes, you seem to be asking basic questions about the format of the test, which is only a week and a half away, for you.

Log into this site for answers about the test format: www.memphis.edu/testing/teas.php. (Or, it appears at the bottom of the first screen (for me) if I google TEAS.) Note # of questions per topic, and time allowed.

(Ignore school-specific info; cost varies by school, as do site-specific requirements.)

Yes, the test is computerized. The on-line instructions you received probably told you to bring at least two #2 pencils--not needed. All you need is your ATI user name & password (normally), and some writing instrument. Normally, the test site provides scratch paper.

Yes, there are 20 ungraded questions on the test; I figure these are part of the ATI validation process for future questions. As the PP said, you won't know which these are.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
