Taking the TEAS today! Practice vs. Real Test?

  1. 0 I'm taking my TEAS at 4:00 this afternoon. I'm so nervous! I didn't buy the practice tests from ATI, but I did use the book and the McGraw practice tests. I've been scoring pretty consistently in the low 80's in the English and Reading portions, high 80's in math (which I thought was my worst subject) and high 70's in science. I really only started studying this week but I'm hoping for high 80's on the actual test. Just curious, what was everyone's experience with the practice tests? Did you score higher, lower, or about the same on the actual exam?

What kind of math questions do you encounter? That is my hardest subject as well.

How did you do???? Was your actual score similar to the practice test scores?

I scored an 85.3! I'm pretty happy, but I might retake it one more time to see if I can bump it up a bit. I got a 90% on the math section. Most of the questions were percentages, fractions and decimals. Lots of long division and multiplication and reading and interpreting charts. I only had 4 algebra questions which I was very happy about.

That's EXCELLENT!!! You should be proud of that score. Did u find it difficult? I will have 4 weeks to prepare for it. I just hope that's enough time. I'll be using the ATI study guide.

I thought the science was the most difficult part because there are so many different topics covered. I skipped over a lot of the chemistry in the study guide because I just took it over the summer, but I wish I had reviewed it. The ATI book is really comprehensive and nothing stood out as "whoa I've never seen this before." I did a lot of "educated guessing" and had an 83.3 in that section.

Thank you! My classmates think I'm crazy for wanting to retake, but I want to be as competitive as possible. I felt great during the reading portion, after the math I felt totally deflated and finished the test CONVINCED that I bombed it. I was very pleasantly surprised at my score!

Four weeks is the perfect amount of time to study for it. Start now! The ATI guide is VERY helpful. If you read it cover to cover and do the practice questions you'll be fine.

Thanks so much for the info! I plan to begin studying December 5th after my last final for the semester and the test is scheduled for January 4th. I plan to read through the book cover to cover and do the tests in the back of the book! A&P 2 is so stressful I'm kinda looking forward to just focusing on studying for this test lol

Here in Georgia that's a VERY competitive score. If they don't look down upon multiple attempts why not do if again. But I think you did excellent.

    Again, thanks for the response

Are there many measurement or Celsius to Fahrenheit or vice versa?
