Pre-Requisites before taking the TEAS V Exam

Hey all, I need to take the TEAS V Exam for entrance into a couple of nursing programs that I've been looking into. With that being said, should I take the pre-requisite courses like Anatomy and Physiology and Chemistry before I take the TEAS Exam? Will this make it any easier? Or does it make no difference? From what I understand there's a lot of science on it. If I could get some insight to steer me in the right direction that'd be much appreciated.

I have not yet taken the teas but I am currently studying for the exam. I took my pre req courses three to five years ago and it's amazing how much I forgot! I would recommend taking the teas after taking english, algebra, general math for society, a&p, basic chemistry and a physics course. If you did well in these classes in high school the TEAS should be no problem. I keep thinking wow, I wish I had taken this test ten years ago, lol. If you don't yet have a study guide; get one. Then you can determine what you know, what you don't know, and what you've forgotten.
    Good luck

Honestly, yes. Do the prereqs first, before taking the TEAS. I would not have been able to answer many of the science questions without having done the prereqs recently. However, I graduated high school in 1999, so it had been a while since I had any science.

    Good luck!

Taking those classes is definitely a plus. You only get two attempts at the TEAS V so don't waste one on guesses. You'll regret it. The science section was the most challenging and it's where I received my lowest score, despite the fact that I have taken 16 hours of science classes over the past 12 months!

    Good luck!

Hello, at the school I currently attend you are encouraged to take your prereq's and get them completed but it's not mandatory. You must apply for the nursing program and then you are asked to sit for the teas. You can't just randomly go take it. I hope this helps.
