New TEAS V Science Section

Nursing Students TEAS

Has anyone taken the latest version, the TEAS V? My test is coming up April 6. I have the ATI version V study guide, and the McGraw Hill book.

What should I be sure to study when it comes to the latest version of the test?

i agree it just hard trying to figure what to study and whats the best thing to use. Science is very broad so whats the best thing to study for something that may cover everything. You still made a 88 so do you think that everything else was similar to the book

I gave test today and hence i m posting today so i can help everyone out there who is ready or even planning to give test. I just have to say that please please do more of science... because it is going to drill you. I am not trying to scare you all but just want you all to prepare harder. I studied the science from Ati study guide but take my words it is definitely not even close to enough. Once can definitely score good in math, thoroughly go over reading and english. Over all Teas v is way to harder than Teas iv .... Goodluck to all

I am taking the TEAS exam June 16th too! I am really freaking out!!!

I got an 88 overall composite on the TEAS V, think my Science score was somewhere around 78%. You can really only study so much for the test specifically. There are going to be many questions you either know, or don't. Other than memorizing your science texts, just make sure you feel comfortable with the information you do know, brush up on topics you're fuzzy on, but I wouldn't expect to be able to study for a 100% on the Science. I did get accepted into a BSN program with my 88% BTW, though I do have a 4.0 GPA and 89 transfer hours for w/e that's worth. Good luck to those taking the test, and don't freak out. :)

thanks for the link! it was very helpful. :)

i took the TEAS V online practice assessment and got a glimpse and feel on how the actual test would be like. man... the ATI review book didn't even cover some items on the Science part in the practice assessement! i found that cross-reviewing with other books helps a lot, especially with Science.

over-all, it helps to take the online practice assessment (A or B) at least 2x. and it's a huge bummer for ATI not allowing basic calculators for tedious math operations. :(

Where are you taking the TEAS at? How are you studying for it?

Taking Teas V June 15 at 1pm. Crossing my fingers.. I need a 90% or more. Teas at my school counts for up to 40 points, I better make it.

So, I'm curious. For those of you that have taken the ATI online practice tests... are these practice tests (science section in particular) similar to the actual TEAS V test? If they are different, do you think the actual TEAS is harder or easier (again, specifically the science section) than the on-line practice tests? Thank you so much! I have been studying the ATI book and have been getting most of the practice questions correct, but I just took at on-line test and failed! 66% YIKES Now I'm really nervous!

I studied the manual before I took the test. I did really good on the math, language and reading. To me those were actually easier than the practice test. However the science test was much harder. It was like I didn't study for it.

i've studied the ATI study guide until my head hurt (the Science part). did well on the study guide's two practice test. but also got a dismal (yet passing) 66% on the first online practice assessment (A). at least, it pointed out in the report on what i needed to review more. but i've noticed the online practice assessment Science part contained some stuff the study guide didn't cover. (gasp!) but covered all of English, Reading, and Math from the study guide.

tomorrow, i'll be taking the 2nd online practice assessment test (A). review. take the 1st online practice assessment test (B). review again. take the 2nd online p.a. (B). rest. then take the real thing on June 8th.

hope we all get through this alive and well! ;)

I used the official study guide from ATI, along with the online practice tests and the book practice tests. The study guide, and practice tests will give you an idea of the type of questions asked, and the general subject matter of the questions, but not much more. It really came down to what I knew and didn't when I took the test. There are some easy questions, a few head scratchers, and alot of questions that really just test what you know about science. The practice tests are helpful, but for anything specific, the only thing I can think would help would be to go through your science texts and notes. As an example, you might have a practice question about mitosis that you get right/wrong, but the question on the test about mitosis, if it's there, will be entirely different. So unless you really know mitosis, you might get the question on the actual test wrong. It's that way with alot of the questions, which, I think makes it a pretty fair test of your science knowledge and application.
