Key To Passing the Teas V

Hi all! I took the teas v test very recently and would like to help anyone I can.

My overall score was an 85% (94th percentile).

I read a good amount of the teas v help posts on this site and they are accurate in helping you prepare for the test.

The main reason I wanted to post this was to highlight something that I haven't seen highlighted in any other posts.

My secret to passing the teas v: a calm state of mind. The content of this test is definitely high school level with the exception of science. This test is definitely geared towards someone who has already taken a fair amount of science classes but it is possible to study hard and receive a good score on that section.

This test is NOT ANYTHING TO STRES OVER. Stress will cloud judgment and make you second guess yourself on the test and give wrong answers. This is a logic exam. It is meant to see how you could use your logic in the medical field.

I only read through the manual once, wrote down what I should look over again, and looked over those things for 3 days (maybe 8 hours of "studying" total).

Remember, confidence is key!! I could not have done so well if I was stressed about this test.

I'm taking it in a week or two and I haven't studied yet mainly because I've been contemplating my major.How are you as a student? I know it doesn't really matter but I''m just curious for my nerves

Sorry for the late response Caitlin!

To answer your question I'm a 4.0 student. However, this test is not as difficult as most people believe it is. For the reading section it is very much a test of logic that cannot be fully studied for. The math section is very straight forward. The time limit on the math section is something to think about and I definitely suggest practice. The grammar section is also very straight forward. The science portion is the one that is tricky and taking an anatomy and chemistry class beforehand would help dramatically. I highly recommend getting the study manual from ATI. Everything you need (with a couple exceptions in the science section but posts on here are very helpful with that) will come straight from the book. Just remember to stay calm.
