There is a great post that I used as a study guide HERE. That post gives great studying advice, step by step.

Also, consider getting a TEAS study manual (there are several guides out there. So far, the ATI Study Guide has worked great for me). As for the math portion, look for "Kashwani Prep" on YouTube. He goes through each of the topics covered in the study guide and does each exercise and gives some test taking tips.

I strongly suggest that you get the TEAS study manual. It's made by ATI, which is the same company that makes the actual exam. It has sections for all topics covered on the test. It also comes with two practice tests in the back of the book.

I studied for about 2 months for the TEAS. I went through the manual, did both tests, and also bought the online practice tests and took them. You should definitely do the online ones. They are worth their weight on gold. So, go through the manual and review all of the topics, take the practice tests, and focus mainly on your weakest areas. I got an 80 overall.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being in school at 30.

I would advise you not to take the TEAS again until you're prepared. Not only because you personally can only take it so many times, but also because it's a waste of $45.

I also spent 2 months preparing, it is not meant to be easy. I bought 4 different books with ATI being the main one. Relearn your basic chemistry and all about Absolute Value as well. Khan Academy has some great videos for photosynthesis and so many other topics. Take it very very seriously. I also took both diagnostic tests online and it was so worth it. You know where your at after you take them and study your weak areas. I did amazing on my TEAS the 1st time by doing all of that. Good Luck!

Oh no I didn't mean it in a bad way! I actually think that anyone that goes to school at that age are actuay amazing people because it's never too late to go to school BUT i just want to start my career asap and not wait too long. I just want to start living on my own and support my parents! I did not mean to offend anyone!

I'm taking mine next Friday and I haven't had much time to study. I have the study guide and have been making flash cards but I'm in school full time right now too so besides the flashcards I haven't studied at all. I'm terrified because of the lack of studying and have to score at least a BASIC, which I am hoping won't be hard to do. With your percentages what category were you placed in? I see a lot of ADVANCED and PROFICIENT.

This is a test you have to study for!! I looked up youtube videos, bought the ATI book and found stuff on line. Take your time and really study for it. Now that you took it you know what to expect....

I took my TEAS V test today and I do not get the results for 48 business hrs... I am worried, I used several reference materials and online websites, videos etc and let me tell you that I had a hard time with science and that is the one area I was over confident in but the test did not even come close to every practice test I took as the actual exam was much much harder... I had questions on things none of the manual ever covered. The wording on the test was hard as well, I had to reread the questions because they were not even clear. Don't think you will have questions because I felt the way it was worded that it left the answers to be open to two correct choice... I am telling you I had the Barron's 5 Test, the McGraw Study Guide, the ATI Manual, C-12 Biology which was over 1,300 pages and I read every page, printed every flashcard, rewrote the flashcard (for memory purpose), bought 4 iPhone TEAS apps, etc. and none of those prepared me for 90% of the science questions. None resembled the actual exam style either. I am sitting here wondering what test everyone else received because everything I read states that it is similar. I even came back home and looked in the ATI manual regarding one of the questions that I was going WTH and I didn't see it in manual so I googled it and had a hard time finding the exact details I needed... I can only take this test twice in one year for the school I want to go to so I hope I pass even if it is barely otherwise I may have to find a different school.... Math was easier than the books, English and Reading were the same as the books. In actualality I think this test is ridiculous as a starting point to get into Nursing, they say it is to test how well of student you will be but that is BS because I have a degree already and i was top of my class so I am a good student and this test can't imply otherwise if I don't get a high score.... I think if you have a degree already you shouldn't have to take a PRETEST... If I knew all about some of this stuff I guess I wouldn't need to be wanting to go to nursing school... Maybe I am just frustrated because I don't think the material they offer is enough and they should better advice and give resources that fully cover the things on the test....

Definitely buy the ATI book. Attached to your scores, I think on the third page, they give you a breakdown on things to study based on what you missed. This will also reference where to find it in the ATI book. As I went through the book, I made a list of every subject I didn't know well. Then I looked up additional info to fully understand the subject, not just the specific questions.

Hi, don't feel bad I am going back to college after 35 years and I studied for this for one week and got about the same score . I now did research and read the books ati I got cover to cover and found that these things are really helpful study a month and take the practice test every week. your score will improve here is what I have this web site khanacademy.org , chem4kids.com they also have biology sign in as an adult when they ask so you can practice problems they do step by step. Also this book get cheep on line very good spells it out (complete Idiots guide to nursing exams) by Maryanne Baudo and robin Kavanagh omg this book is worth every penny cost 14.00 I took my last practice test this week and it raised 30 points so any questions let me know also in drought go to you tube video's.
