Jan/Feb TEAS Test Takers Check In

Students TEAS

Published

Anyone taking the test in Jan or Feb? I am sitting for it in late January. I was already in a nursing program in another state and then we moved so I had to withdraw during second semester. :-/ I took the Kaplan to get into that program and passed with a good score, but I ehard the TEAS V is very hard.

What is everyone doing to prepare?? I bought the ATI Teas manual and got it yesterday in the mail, I need to brush up on Science and Math for sure! Any tips share them here!!

I will be taking the TEAS in late Feb, not sure what exact date. I am returning to college after 30 years, was able to satisfy all but 4 of my prereqs with my transcripts. I'm taking A & P this spring, and then summer. I hope to start the RN program in the fall.

I am studying the ATI study guide, printed off the awesome tips from here, and various youtube videos. I've forgotten so much of this stuff, really feel as if I am learning it all over again. Trying to study a few hours a day, everyday, slow and steady!

Good for you!!! That's awesome. I had a bunch of "older folks" in my nursing class. I myself am 31 and I was in the middle, most were early 20s and 30s and a few late 50s! It was awesome to see. I'm trying to go over some stuff daily to refresh my memory. It's amazing how much I can forget so quickly. I have 5 kiddos who keep me busy so that's probably part of it!

HarleyGrandma,

That is great that you are returning to school. You probably already know this but just in case... be prepared to study a lot for A&P I. A&P can be pretty darn challenging. Make sure you study at least some everyday. At my school, the class average is like 65... For me, I start studying for the next exam after I leave the classroom door!

WantToBeMidwife,

FIVE kids! I swear I don't know how mom's do it- and that is typically just one or two children! You must be one determined and organized mother! I study with a mom in my A&P class, and she and I work great together. She is a very disciplined student! Still, I don't know how she finds the time!

Well, you have to really want it, that's for sure! I limit my kids on activities, if I can't keep up with something I put it aside. I manage to be involved with their schools and classes. I use my days to study and do my work, and nights only if I have an exam. I need my sleep! Never studied later than 11pm or I'm useless the next day. I had a good system going, we've now moved to a new state and I'll have to make sure I find lots of help when I go back. Hubby works from home so that does help too.
