I want to hear from those accepted to their Nursing Program

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Hey everyone! I know that there is a lot on this site about preparing for the TEAS. I want to hear from the people that have recently been accepted to the nursing program. I took my TEAS today, and unfortunatley didn't leave feeling any better than before I took it! I'm a little bit of a perfectionist, so I just want to hear your stories! I have completed all of my pre-reqs (except Micro, which I'm enrolled for this summer) and I have a 4.0 GPA. My composite score was an 81% today. ( Lower than I had hoped for) What were your TEAS scores and GPA? Please share, as I'm freaking out a little bit!!!

I only applied to the college I'm currently attending which is Neosho County Community College in Ottawa, Ks.

Heya,

I realize this thread is a month old but thought I'd try. I'm also waiting to hear from NCCC. I just took the Teas yesterday (the last time it was offered). I had to study my rear off for it over the past several weeks. I scored a 94 and about died of a heart attack. My GPA is around a 3.6 I think. I'm enrolled in a CPA course this summer and I'll have to take Micro at some point. Who's micro class should i take? The advisor I spoke to said they hoped to have letters out by the middle to end of June but they said July to be safe so maybe we won't have to wait too long. Anyway, good luck fellow students!

got accepted into my bsn program after being an alternate. teas adjusted individual score was 83% (my lowest score was the science section since it has been a while since i took my pre reqs and only used the online practice tests to study), all bs in my nursing pre-reqs except for my c in micro (which made my life so much harder), you are better off than i was. i got points by doing well on the teas having a 3.4 cumulative gpa, health care work and volunteer experience, and being spanish proficient. i'm sure you'll be fine, just keep working hard!

Hey! I'm taking Micro this summer with Eric Row? I'm not sure who else teaches it, he was the only instructor for summer class...Do you go to the Ottawa campus? A 94% is AWESOME!! Good job! I would say youre safe for sure!

Thank you, and congrats!

Hello there!

Yes, I am taking classes at the Ottawa campus. I was thinking about taking Micro this summer but I had to take CNA to be eligible to apply for the program. I don't want to bite off more than I can chew...but it would be nice to get it out of the way. Last time I checked there was still two spots open in Row's class. I need to make up my mind! Good luck this summer! Maybe we will bump into each other sometime. My name is Duane. I'll be one of the older non-traditional students there. This is a second career move for me...hope it will also be the final one! Anyway, say hello to a baseball cap wearin', slow walkin' old man if you see him!

I don't know about other schools but I know about the University of Central Florida BSN program.

I was accepted with a 3.90 pre-requisite course GPA, a 3.32 overall GPA, 83 TEAs score.

My friend was put on the waitlist with a 3.5 pre-requisite GPA, 3.38 overall GPA, and a 90 on the TEAs.

So I think, for us atleast, the TEAs score helps a little but the pre-reqs GPA is most important.

Got into the program, to start in January 2012. GPA: 4.00, TEAS: 84% (I was also disappointed, BUT I have not even cracked the book for the TEAS, so I accepted this result, given that I didn't study at all)

I just found out yesterday that I got in! Im bewildred, excited and scared all at the same time! I just want to get in and get it done. Best of luck to all nursing students everywhere!

Your GPA of 3.639, is this your cumulative undergrad GPA or the GPA from your pre-requisites?

Just yesterday, I was accepted into TWU's nursing program. (Thank the Lord!) To my knowledge there was roughly 900 applicants for a total of 235 spots. Three programs shared the 235 applicants.

My TEAS V score was 68 (64 was the minimum to qualify) and my GPA was 3.639.

In disclosing this information, I am hoping to encourage those who work hard, not to give up, even when you feel like you don't have a prayer. Look at me...I just barely qualified on my TEAS V, but still, I qualified and was somehow selected out of the 900 applicants to attend the program.

**IMPORTANT**

Be sure you apply for your Associate in Arts Degree once your basics are done, and have it BEFORE you are scheduled to start nursing school. If you don't prove to be "core complete" (by literally having your Associate in Arts Degree), the nursing school can require you to take additional classes. Believe me, it almost happened to me.

Keep the faith...and good luck!

Gpa 3.3 my score was 70.7. I bombed science! But my English and reading saved my butt! My school becker college required a proficient score so I made it in!

Congratulations! Whenever did you find out you were accepted and how were you notified?
