I have to take the TEAS test....

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

My school, UNCW, is transitioning away from HESI to TEAS. From what I have seen of both tests, the TEAS does not have as much chemistry on it as the HESI. English is one of my strong points, so I'm not too worried about that part (although I will still continue to prepare for it). My question to everyone is : how bad are the math and science parts of the TEAS? I've heard some people say that it consists of simple fraction and percent problems, and also basic periodic table style questions. I have to take it by the end of July, so I'm trying to prepare as early as I can. I do have the ATI guide on the way, but I wanted to get some input from people who have already taken the test.

Hi. The TEAS isn't really too difficult. The math was basic, pre-algerbra, fractions, percentages. English was reading paragraphs etc. Science was life science and A&P. I studied for about 2 months, got the TEAS book from my school. I didn't think my scores were super, but I passed, and got into NS, and now I am in my 5th week, good luck. Practice at ati testing, it helped me.

Hi y'all,

Please i need to know if there is a difference between TEAS and TEAS V ? Can you tell me what you know about TEAS V(subjects and rate of easiness), and suggest reading materials for it :-/, Thanks alot.

I think that the TEAS that I have to take is the TEAS V. My counselor showed me the TEAS V review book, and that is the one that I bought and have started to study from. It is the book from ATI, which I believe is the company that makes the actual test (or so I have been told).

Now I have seen quite a few people say that the science part in the ATI book wasn't anything like the test and that the test was way harder.

This is the part I am freaking out about the most!

I think that I'm just going to study every nursing entrance exam known to man! Well, maybe not every one, but as many as I can. I have until the last part of July, so I hope that I am preparing well enough in advance. The ATI book has very good explanations and the material doesn't seem very foreign, so hopefully it won't be as bad as we are all thinking. Of course, the night after the test I'm probably going to have nightmares about clouds, rocks, and the dreaded fractions! I definitely plan on posting after I take the test, just to let everyone know about my own experience with it.

While we are still on the subject, has anyone heard of "group testing" for this? My program brochure says that the test is $80, but it's only $60 if we do the group test. I will be the first to admit that I am a bit clueless on this.

$80! Wow, I guess ATI doesn't set the price for the exam because at my school the test is only $45.

Good luck studying. I take my test this coming Wednesday and I am hoping studying the ATI study guide will help.
