Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Since ATI provides no student assistance to interpret scores, let's help each other! If enough of us enter our complete TEAS scores, we'll be able to compare notes to see how we rank in different programs, what to aim for if your school requires a Program percentile rank rather than a series of scores, etc. There is another thread where people are sharing their scores, but it looks like most people are just sharing their Adjusted Individual Total Score or whatever applies to their particular school. By sharing all the info, we can help each other better.

Please copy the scores below and then change them to your own, in your post! thanks! Please make sure to check your Program Type! It's right under the name of the school where you took it, on your score sheet.

Still can't believe I did this well. Studied my tail off. My school only looks at Math and Science, so I rushed through the English part. I know if I would have taken my time I could have gotten better than an 83. But I'm hoping that being in the 99th percentile will look really good on my application. I messed around my first year of college, so even though I have gotten all A's since, my GPA is not as high as I would like it to be (3.5). Keeping my fingers crossed!

I took the TEAS a few days ago. Going for an ADN program.

AIT Score - 74.0% (proficient)

National Mean - 64.3%

Program Mean - 64.9%

Percentile Rank - National 76%

Percentile Rank - Program 77%

Reading - 97.3%

Math - 73.3% (I have no idea what happened here, this section was my strongest in all of my pre-tests. I panicked.)

Science - 64.6% (Have not taken Chem or Phys Science)

English - 63.3% (HARD!)

The percentiles are what confuse me the most because I have friends who took it on different days and their score is only 3-4 pts better than mine, but they are in the 86th precentile, etc. So that is odd to me. I met the min requirements for my program and am just waiting to find out if I get in until May.....I have a 3.9 GPA and all the classes I have left to take are my NUR classes. So we shall see. Fingers crossed but I'm feeling like that score isn't good enough.....only had about 2 weeks of warning about when the test was scheduled to be taken!

I'm noticing a pattern here and just realized "Program" doesn't mean students applying in my school but rather, students applying for the same type nationally. For example, PN, ADN, and BSN.

And "Nationally" means your ranking across all program types. Am I making sense here in my assumption?

My program btw is ADN

National Percentile is for all people that took the test for the time period they use for ranking (1 yr???). Program Percentile is the national ranking for all people in that program. For example, you put down ADN for your program on the TEAS and scored a 79%. You outscored 87% of the people that took the test regardless of the program they are applying for (ADN, BSN, PN). You outscored 88% of the people (nationally, not your school) that chose ADN for their program on the TEAS.

I have just realized this too before I saw your post.

My school accepts only the top 40. This national program ranking is pretty useless to me. A "local school program" ranking would have been much better.

Took it this afternoon. Prepared using the ATI Study Manual and on-line practice tests that came with the manual. The on-line test helped me prepare for the type and format of the questions asked on the actual test. Worth the $ in my opinion.

I had to retake it too! Just get the online assessment from ATI so you'll know what to focus on.
