Hi everyone, Since ATI provides no student assistance to interpret scores, let's help each other! If enough of us enter our complete TEAS scores, we'll be able to compare notes to see how we rank in different programs, what to... Read More

Depends on what your weaknesses are. If you're bad at math under a time crunch focus on that. If you're bad at grammar focus on that. The more time you put into it the better off you'll be, this is definitely true if you're a bad test taker. Take a practice test and see which section you do the worst on and what type of questions you did poorly on. The key is study what you don't know or are bad at not what you do know. I got an 82%, which is not bad but in my standards for myself it's not great.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

It all depends on what you already know. I took it with no studying whatsoever and got an 87. It was administered to my class without advance notice (yeah, really). However, there were some questions that I did not know the answer to (hadn't had Chem in 15 years) and I suck at those 'what is the author trying to convey' type questions. And there were some things in the English section I had never heard of (like what 'voice' is the author using--narrative was the only one of the choices that I knew). It's not hard, but preparedness is key. If I'd known what to expect, I would have prepared.

Side note: I thought the stories in the Reading and English sections were poorly written.

Just came from taking the exam.

Changing careers - doing the 2nd degree accelerated program.

Studied hours per day for about 5 - 6 weeks. Used the McGraw-Hills 5 TEAS Practice Tests [Paperback]. It was rated very highly on Amazon. It is very thorough and really works! (McGraw-Hills 5 TEAS Practice Tests: Kathy Zahler: 9780071767774: Amazon.com: Books)

Any area that was confusing, I just went online to google or youtube. Be sure and relax the night before the test. Get a good breakfast.

Weakest areas for me were: punnett square, chemical equations, pH scale, and topic vs theme. (Chemistry wasn't fresh for me).

Unfortunately I did not study or prepare like I had planned to do, and definitely got pummeled by that science section. Ouch. I also found myself getting tired and listless for the last couple of tests. I do multiple choice tests quickly (essay questions I'm the exact opposite, usually the last one done - too verbose!). I either know the answer or I don't, I guess and move on. So all the sitting around and waiting, napping with my head on the desk kinda drained the oomph I feel like I started with. Oh well.

If I did it again, I'd come better armed for that science. And probably take advantage of those breaks to take walks, clear my head and get re-energized.
