Do the Math versions of TEAS V vary based on school??

Nursing Students TEAS

I recently took the TEAS and felt the math was not an accurate reflection of what was on the study guide. It had more algebra, graphing, square roots, a little Geometry, word problems. I was under the impression it would be more percentage problems, addition, multiplication, subtraction, reconciliation of checking problems, take home pay problems, etc Barely any of that showed up on the exam.

Does the type of material that show up on the math section vary based on what school you go to and the pre requisites you take for the RN program? I have a friend who attends a community college that does not require Chemistry or Math to enter the RN program and she said on their TEAS V they had a lot of easy Earth/Life Science (for Science portion) questions and the math was very very basic. chem is taken off of their TEAS V

I'm taking the TEAS on the 18th and after reading your post I'm a little nervous! I'm good with the math that is in the ATI study guide but I'm not at all comfortable with geometry. Was the geometry on the test pretty basic stuff or was it complicated formulas?

Don't worry about it, it may not even be on your TEAS exam. I think I just got unlucky. Honestly, I can't even remember what type of Geometry it was, maybe a Geometry word problem or something. I just guessed on it and quickly moved to the next one. I'm terrible in Geometry

I see...Well, I guess I'll just try and be as prepared as possible. I haven't taken Geometry since high school and that was many, many years ago...LOL

I just took the TEAS V on Nov 2, and the Geometry questions I had were basic. I didn't use the official TEAS study guide but did use the McGraw-Hill book. It covered the geometry topics that my exam covered.

My advice?

For Geometry know:

-how to find the area/perimeter of a square/rectangle

-how to find the area/circumference of a circle

-how to use the pythagorean theorum

Do a few practice problems on these topics, and you'll rock the geometry questions!
