I AM NEWLY GRADUATE NURSE, IF I HAVE PATIENT TO BE DISCHARGE FROM THE HOSPITAL AND SHE ON WARFARIN, WHAT SHOULD I DO? WHAT PAPERWORKS OR FOLLOW UP I HAVE TO DO?

HI Irarem82,

I think you may try to check online the list of hospitals near in your place because some of these hospitals post job vacancies thru their site. You can also submit your resume online however, i think it is still better that you try to drop by your credentials and resume to the hospital personally.

About your NCLEX exam, if you are going take the NCLEX-RN I suggest that you read Saunder's Comprehensive and try practicing La Charity's Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment book. And try to answer Saunder's question and answer CDs.

As a nurse for "some years" LOL. I have always heard stories of people going into nursing to better themselves. "I did it because I had 2 kids and had to support them"....I did it because I need someplace to feel needed"...."I did it because it felt right"! In the end, we all did it because we felt the need to do it! It fills us with graditude,sympathy,empathy and joy. For some of us the "calling" is there!!! They call us NURSES.

I would like to share my own experiences about my success story to you.
I joined nursing course in the year 1966.I was always a school topper but instead of joining any other course I joined this just because of my learning and earning needs. but today I am the most happiest person and I thank God to be a nurse.
The reasons are as follows;
I am the great asset to myself, my family ,my neighbours and my community because I am a nurse .
Now let me state how I am a great asset to everyone .
I could maintain ,promote my health I can immediately Identify the health problems and take immediate action therefore I could servive myself from breast cancer. till today my children are keeping good health without any visit to hospital and now I am taking good care od my grand child .I have helped thousands of people in the community with my nursing assessment ,planning ,implementing and evaluating and replanning skills. Ithink no other proffession would have given this much of satisfaction even if I would have become a Doctor
I started my career as a deploma nurse but recently I retired as a vice principal of a nursing college . Last year I cleared Nclex exam also Now I am 59 years old but still enthusiastic in helping any person who is in need . I believe nursing does not have boundries of any country in the world .all human beings have same needs as stated by Vergenia Henderson or Abedella .
I always suggest to girls to be a nurse and congratulate those who are in nursing services .No other profession is greater to me because serving the human is serving God.you get lots of blessings . [YOUTUBE][/YOUTUBE] .

I am Chinedu Okeke, a Nigerian and working in the oil and gas sector as a Nurse (RN) since the past four years here in my country. My experiences cannot be detailed in just a few lines because I have been opportuned to work in the most difficult and unconducive terrains any human being can live in. The most challenging day I had in my career was the day I evacuated a patient who died from cardiac arrest on a houseboat and we had to transfer the corpse from one boat to another while on sea because the bigger boat couldnt get close to our company's sea plane that came for the evacuation. This procedures was carried out while the wave was still strong and I rememebered what I learnt in school; EVEN AT DEATH, NURSES STILL CARE. For those of us who practise Nursing in very cormfortable environments with decent facilities at there disposal for use, I want you to imagine having attended to a diabetic patient and giving him all the nutritional advice you learnt and know, the patient cannot get green vegetables and fruits because it doesnt grow or even survive where he lives, besides his income is so low that he cannot also afford them. Deep in our minds when we reflect, its clear to us that this patient is alive but already dead and we can do little or nothing to save them. I do know for you out there but I know Nurses always care and shed tears for their patients on uncountable situations. These tears are born out from love and compassion we have for our dependent brothers and sisters (The sick). We should always KEEP THE GOOD WORK GOING
