- 0Jul 16, '13 by MarliaveI'm interviewing for a PCU position on Thursday as a new graduate and was wondering if you or any other nurses on here have any guidance to offer. It's my first call for an interview after searching for several months so I really want it to go well!!
They've also asked me to bring a change of scrubs to change into so I can shadow on the floor. Is that typical for a first interview? Just trying to gauge what to expect!
Any advice or insight would be much appreciated!!
(Katie225, Congrats on the job, I hope your first year has gone well!)

I did and a month before I graduated they offered it to me! I just passed boards last week so off I go!! Congrats to you too!Hi everyone... just wanted to share my success story for any discouraged new grads out there. I just had my 3rd interview in the PCU/ICU unit I precepted in while in school. I was offered the job!!! I can't believe it, I haven't even taken my boards yet and just finished school last week. I am really excited. I just wanted to give hope to the newbies out there like me who think there are no jobs because of what people tell them. Good luck to all of you job hunting, don't give up!!
- 0Oct 24, '13 by RN-BSNheatherI'm also a new grad (graduating in 50 days). I've been applying like crazy for 3 months. It was incredibly discouraging when I didn't get interviews or didn't get jobs. My best advice is to keep at it. I got the call yesterday that I got a job on a mom/baby unit (one of my dreams areas along with NICU and L&D). Don't give up!!! It is more than possible to get a job as a new grad.
