Its been 9 years since I decided to be a nurse.

Here is my story:

When I graduated high school I got married 3 months later, not realizing it at the time, I was just trying to escape life with my Dad and stepmother who was an abusive addict, and had been since she married my Dad when I was 10. I was her target. My mom and sister died when I was little so I was stuck in that living situation until I was old enough to get out. I'd been accepted to a university and thought I wanted to be a teacher. My husband and I lived a 45 minute drive away from the college. He wouldn't work.
