To do the best that I can-whether it's taking care of someone, fixing something, building something.
To try and get as much as I can out of each minute-you never know when your last minute will happen.
To try and enjoy every minute-even the stressful ones.
Life is too short to live any other way.

Success-

He who has lived well, Laughed often and loved Much;
Who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children
Who has filled his niche and accomlished his task;Who leaves the world Better than he found it, Whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem or a rescued soul; Who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; who looked for the best on others and gave the best he had.

Gosh what a deep question.

Ok my standards of success is be the person who I am. No pretence no lies what you see is what you get.
Be humble, have a good ear for listening, follow advice well and be ethically above reproach.
Do what you set out to do or say. If you promise someone something do it.
Integrity is a must.
I use humor in my job as crazy as it sounds for a Hospice Nurse.
I try to keep my frustrations in check and do the best I can each day the Good Lord gives me.

Raising happy,honest,hardworking,loving and respectful children.

My obit would say she was a good MOM, a loving caring partner, a great sister, daughter and a hardworking, caring nurse who put 100% into whatever she did and treated her pts/families as if they were her own.She loved, danced and laughed each day as if it was her last.(so if i pay them enough,ya think they wil say this?...lol)

I saw a plaque once that said "Success is learning to live with plan B." Although it tickled my funnybone at the time, given the twists & turns that life sometimes takes, it's probably a very profound statement!

Being able to contribute something good and lasting to another or a project.
Teaching my child with consistency, hoping that is what can be falled back upon in times of need. AKA: Know right from wrong.

Professionally, to do my job the right way and to expect others to do the same.

Spitirtually, to know the difference if I've done something "wrong" and the dignity to repair the damage.

Love it! Never heard it before, it's one of those "truer words have never been spoken" statements!
