I got into an RN program this past semester. I did well in clinical, but failed by 5 points in theory. I did have some circumstances involving a learning disability and new meds.

I am reapplying, but the C- dropped me from 3.3 to 3.1 since it was a 7 credit course. I am applying at new schools and considering LPN as fall back, but I do not want to get paid less for the same job as RN.

Any suggestions on RN, and those that went RN from LPN are appreciated. I am located in upstate NY, in the Rochester are.

I'm waiting to hear if I get in another program. Although I am really happy for most of my cohort graduating and passing boards, I'm fighting being depressed and anxious.

I rehearsed for the graduation ceremony with everyone, only to later find out I did not have a passing grade for the final semester. They allowed me to return the following year to re-do the last semester. I passed pretty easily since I studied so much more; and so did another person in my class, so its really not that uncommon.

I feel very emotional by reading this . I have failed one class in nursing school and I m passing the second class barely making it . I don't know if I m going to make it . I m tired of nursing school after so many failures .failure in bsn then again this .i have only 3 class towards my associate . I'm alone in this boat . I don't know how much I cry every single day .Its tough lord .
First off, you're already doubting yourself and that's gonna lead you to thinking more like you actually can't do it. You're not alone that's for sure as there are tons of nursing students out there who are in the same boat. Yes, it's heartbreaking to think to be failing nursing school however; if it was easy everyone would be doing it. Trust me, when I realized I would have to re-take my final term of nursing school again I was heartbroken because I felt like I was a failure. After a week-long break I settled back in slowly and took things a step further and actually asked questions if I had a question both during class and clinicals. It is tough but believe in yourself and seek out to students or your professors that will sit down with you and help you out.

I'm exactly in the same boat you were in. I planned way too far ahead and thought about post-graduation and stuff and ended up not passing the Exit HESI getting an 849 to the required 850. That frustrated me so bad. This time around I'm being more in tuned in class with no distractions and during clinicals I became more assertive and asking questions from any nurse that I would be assigned to for that day. I'm starting to think "I can do this"
