when I was working three to eleven shift on my med surg floor I went in to check on my patients at the beginning of my shift, a young teen whom was in a car accident at a local spot called look out point. she now from brain damage, was at a two to three year old spot in her head. she refused to eat food brought to her and was ready to have a tube feeding placement done. I walked in the room with applesauce and looked at her with a smile, her mom smiled back. I sat and fed her she loved the applesauce. she looked at her mom and said "she reminds me of my angel" her mom looked at me and explained, " she has angels , last week during easter a black lady came in with this bunny and as she walked in the door my daughter woke up and said mommy she is my angel the one who saved me, when the black lady left I ran out to say thankyou and she was gone. no one seen her come in or leave" well then the girl explained to me and I got goosebumps and chills as she did " I was falling in the car and when it crashed all I seen was smoke, I looked up and saw stairs going upward and a white male angel with big wings and a black lady angel with big wings, the lady angel told me its not my time to go with them and at that point they were carring me out of the wreckage on a gurney, Ill never forget my angel." and when she was done telling me what happened i had tears going down my face, angels are real they watch over all of us. yes we as nurses are angels too the ones on earth the others are the ones in heaven whom interact when needed too. that girl was only one of three to survive suicide look out point, about twenty of others have died.

I don't have anything to add but wow!!

When we all have a bad day in our department, we all go out for a drink and reassure each other. Next time, I think I'll just sit myself & my colleagues down in front of the 'puter and get them to read these stories.
Thank you
