Wolford CRNA Fall 2017

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Just wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to Wolford's CRNA program October 2017. Any completed applications? Interviews? I visited the site and was pretty impressed. My application is on the way.

I interviewed and got into 2 schools without testing for the CCRN but I have 4 years ICU experience.

Thank you BKLYNFRANKIE, BSN.

Any regional accreditation updates? This is supposed to be the month COA visits.

I would be very surprised if it gains SACS accreditation--that may take a while to achieve. SACS accreditation becomes an issue only if you're applying to a specific DNP/DNAP program that requires it. Unless you're planning to teach in a university, it doesn't make a difference. Besides, attending a regionally accredited DNP/DNAP program fixes that problem. As far as COA is concerned, I spoke with the director who informed me there were no adverse actions against Wolford. I believe one of their benchmarks was to have all faculty be doctorate prepared to train in a graduate level program--this would have been a SACS requirement as well.

Future applicants be careful- read Wolford lost accreditation starting 9/2018!

Are you a current student? That hasn't been decided.

How about you provide some proof of this claim.

Contact Wolford, ask if they are starting their next Feb 2018 cohort and ask to be put in contact with 2 or 3 current students.

COA is returning in January. What does the COA website say? Continued accreditation. Next.

The COA tries very hard to keep a program accredited until current students complete. It might not work this time and some students may get hurt. The current students are very worried.

Wolford undoubtedly needs to get it together. All of us are worried. The unfortunate part is that Wolford is a good school but the administration has slipped and they really do need to pull it together. They are currently accredited. COA will be back. If it's a no at that time, they will have continued accreditation until 9/2018. It's up in the air but what students don't need is people talking crap and saying things that aren't true.

If you're a current student I can understand your stress and I'm sorry for your situation. The posts are to try to avoid more people getting into a bad situation.
