I would also love to hear some advice on housing. I've been looking around online based on previous posts but I don't feel like I'm having a lot of luck.

so far, housing seems to be hit and miss. they have tons if housing. the issue is that a lot of it is income-based. I'm also open to the idea of a roommate. Let's face it...it's definitely the cheaper option; not to mention...you have have a nearby instant study partner if needed.

Hi all, I've been a nurse for a year now but have worked for a couple of months in a ccu and then 10 months in psych. In my accelerated BSN program I busted my tail to get a great gpa, and tech'ed in a CV-heavy ICU for 9 months, with the intention of going to CRNA school but my spouse ended up in a special operations unit (go army!) which severely limited my availability to work beyond an 8 hour shift.Thankfully, I've found a nanny. I really only want to attend Wolford because there is a rotation site here in Georgia where my husband is stationed and would like to spend the least amount of time apart as possible.

Anyway, I was just hired to work in an ICU- level II trauma, and want to apply to Wolford for Fall 2014 at which time I would have just over a year ICU experience. I have a 3.93 BSN gpa and 3.4 overall due to a lower gpa in my CS degree. I'll be taking the GRE in June but my PowerPrep scores are 160V 165Q, 162V, 166Q. I totally slacked and will be getting 2 B's in two grad level courses, but intend to take a few this Summer to bump my grad gpa to a 3.7. My mother and her twin were CRNA's so I have a pretty good idea of what I'm getting into, but I have arranged to shadow several CRNAs at one of Wolford's rotation sites.

So, to my question which has been asked ad nauseum: Do I stand a chance with such little ICU experience?

I plan to send in my application this week, and will send supporting documents in as I meet the requirements. I'm hoping to have my packet completed by September.

Thanks in advance and congrats on the acceptances!

You should have no problem getting into Wolford, just be prepared to bust your hump for 28 months when you do get in. Doesn't hurt to have your ccrn, but I don't think its necessary to have it to get into Wolford. Just make sure you start your application process a bit early cause it can be tedious and some peeps are a bit slow about getting your letters of req back to you and such. I would start your application around 6 months of starting in the icu just to stay a lil ahead of the game. I am pretty confident you will get in good luck!

Thanks for the info. Do you think if I pushed my timeline back to Nov (for Fall 2013) I would be too late for the first round of interviews for that cohort?

    Thanks again.
