    Dementievafan,

There are a ton of 'ASN-vs-BSN' threads on this forum, but since this is in the Pre-CRNA Forum, I'll answer it in that context.

For admission to the vast majority of CRNA programs, you will need two things: 1) a BSN, and 2) one or more (often several) years experience as a critical care RN.

Does that mean you need to enter a BSN program from the start? Not necessarily. Many students get an ASN, then work as an RN full-time while they chip away at the BSN. By the time they graduate from the BSN program and apply to CRNA school, they've also completed the work experience requirement for admission.

Another question to ask is does the school that you want to go to, or schools you like require a BSN or any bachelors degree. All schools will tell you uop front what they require. it is not a secret. And think......any program will take a BSN, Some programs require a BSN. No program requires a bachelor's other than a BSN. DO the BSN and enjoy itl. then apply. The idea of "chipping away" as earlier mentioned is great. When you atre done with the BSN, you will have your work requirement done!!
    Good luck

hi! my friend is looking at programs that don't *seem* to be requiring the RN and several years of relevant nursing experience....

what do you think of those programs that give you direct MSN's w/o the BSN/ADN?
