What is Anesthesia school like?

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

I am going to college to become a RN next year and eventually I would like to become a CRNA. I wanted to go to downtown Chicago and ask students at Rush Medical what their experience is like at the school. What is your experience like being a SCRNA?

  • What do you do in class daily?
  • What is your homework?
  • What's your hospital experience like?
  • Do you enjoy being there?
  • How hard is the school for you?

If you would like to also add your GPA and stats that got you into the school that be great but if you want to keep that to yourself that is fine. Thanks for the help guys!

  • What do you do in class daily?
  • Depends on your school I am sure. I had most of my classes over the first year. Most classes were 3 hours of lecture each followed by a quiz the following week on what we were taught. Most of my classes are finished now and I have just about a year of mostly clinical.

  • What is your homework?
  • Reading, reading, reading and a paper every now and then followed by reading.

  • What's your hospital experience like?
  • Mix of CV, ortho, general, same day, GI lab, cath lab, L&D. Travel sites have more regional block experience.

  • Do you enjoy being there?
  • Depends on the day, but most of the time yes.

  • How hard is the school for you?
  • Depends on the day, but if it were easy everyone would do it.

GPA 3.6

GRE 960

2 years CCU

Stats get you the interview, but the interview gets you into school. I saw some people that qualified on paper but showed up to the interview looking lost and disoriented.
