I check my mail box everyday like a kid seraching food in a refrigerator. sometimes I just want to get it over whether I make it or not. This waiting time is killing me? give me some advice. Thanks.

I totally feel your pain !!! I interviewed yesterday and today I think my nerves are more wrecked than before the interview!!! They told us yesterday that we would be notified possibly by the end of December. My Gosh, THAT IS SIX WEEKS AWAY!!! I'm sorry that I do not have any encouraging advice to give you, but I feel the same way about knowing even if I am not accepted. This is going to be the hardest thing to wait on that I have ever experienced!! Good luck, hope you hear something soon!!

This was me a few days ago. It took over a month for them to mail out the letters. Meanwhile, just relax and occupy yourself. Keep that brain busy

    Keeping my fingers crossed

I was also in your shoes until a couple of days ago. I was actually accepted to one program in September and just got accepted to my first choice. I must say it is a huge relief just knowing. I tried not to think about it every minute of the day (almost impossible.) It did help for me to remind myself that it would not be the worst thing in the world if I didnt get in, much worse things could happen. You still have options for next year if you do not get in and if you do congratualtions. Good luck to you! If you dont mind me asking...Where did you apply?

    I applied three schools.

    1. New britain- finished interview and waiting fir the final letter or decision.

    2. UNIV of Kansas, going to interview on Dec, 03. next month. preparing for the interview as much as I can.

    3. Minneapolis school of Anesthesia- still processing my application, due end of November. hopely waiting for any message.

this will be a long winter for waiting for nothing . somebody pray for me. I just want to get it over. I did not know the process would be so long and not easy like this.

The waiting is definitely tough, although I'd say my pre-interview anxiety was the worst. I waited about two months for the first reply. My only advice is to put it in a box in your mind and lock the box, and put it away. You will make yourself crazy and it's not good for you physically to be so stressed. I know it's not possible to just "stop worrying about it" but if you can at all - put it in the hands of God or Fate or the universe or whatever you believe in.

    Good luck.

I wish that I could put all of this stress and worry in a box and tuck it away! This time waiting for an answer seems more excruciating than other things that I have anticipated because the interview committee's decision determines what I do with the next year of my life!! I keep telling myself that if I don't get in I will just continue to get more ICU experience and take more graduate level classes and reapply next year, but these self-reassurances don't help the constant feeling of nausea :uhoh21: and fear of rejection!!! I want to be in anesthesia school so badly I can taste it!! I know that there are several SRNA-wanna- be's out there going through the same thing!! I just hope somehow I can find away to get through the next few weeks without to much torment!!

I understand exactly how everyone feels. I just found out I was accepted this morning from Oakland University. The best advice is to think positive thoughts ( I know its hard), stop replaying the questions asked and how you responded during the inteview. Trust me it will drive you crazy!!! If you believe in God or some higher power than relax and keep the faith. Most of the time we underestimate how well we performed during high stress situations. Good Luck to all.

I also can empathize. I am working with a wonderful person who was accepted to the same school I interviewed with AT THE INTERVIEW. It makes me soooo nervous thinking about not going and watching a friend go without me. Fear of rejection I guess. I'm trying to stay positive, pray alot, and keep busy but it's so hard. Any advice would be welcome.

I feel for you texanjj!! It must be excruciating working with a friend that has already been accepted while you are dying inside wondering if you will get in!! I interviewed on 11-15 and haven't heard anything yet. Letters are supposed to be sent out by the last week in Dec. and waiting is torture. The school that I applied to has actually called a few people that work in other ICU's in the hospital where I do and granted them early admission. Although it makes me happy for them I am getting very worried . I am like you trying to stay busy and focus on the upcoming holidays to keep my mind from going nuts!! Good luck to you and I hope you hear something soon!!!

This is probably not encouraging advice....But, I know exactly the PAIN one experiences waiting to hear regarding acceptance. I interviewed last february and was denied in April. And i tell you.. Opening that letter and reading it...... Not only was it a powerful feeling of rejection, BUT it made me come back a stronger person and MORE determined than ever before. I talked with the program director at TWU in Fort Worth and he gave me advice on how to prepare for the next interview. I took his advice and had my interview two weeks ago... And was told before i left the building that i was accepted!
Only advice i can give is NOT to put the world on hold waiting to hear if your accepted. If it's where you should be, then it will happen. But if not, then there is a reason for it.
And that's all i have to say about that..
