Quick question, has anybody got their RN licensure for MN and WI yet? I was thinking about waiting till the first of the year.

I'm doing the exact same thing!

Good, I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Da_Milk_of_Amnesia, thats cool, NYC is a great place and you can't beat it at Christmas time lol. I'll be coming from Ohio around the Columbus area. I'm also planning to wait to the beginning of the year to get my MN and WI licensure, it seems to make the most sense. How is everyone's apartment/housing search going?

Well, I have to tap out!! I got accepted to a program in Florida and will be choosing sunshine over snow. I was #4 on the wait list for SMUMN. Good luck to everyone.

Has anyone heard from SMU yet for the class of 2014?

You would be the class of 2016, not 2014. Goes by graduation date. Just sayin.

Ha! You're right! Wow 2016 seems like a loooong time from now.

Got invited to interview! Anyone else?

I interview beginning of June! I'm really excited; however, I was just doing a little research into the program and saw some negative comments. Any insight on that?

- Well what did you hear and maybe I can dispell what you have read. Remember as with anything in life. Believe nothing of what you hear, and only half of what you see.

I most definitely agree with you about not believing everything I hear! The things I've read consist of lack of student support and also problems with organization and the director of the program creating more stress than needed.

Well lets look at a couple things here. This is grad school. There is a different expectation here, there is a lot of work you have to do on your own. Our professors help us from what I've seen thus far. The director, Merri is a very no nonsense kinda person, she does not take any crap from anyone and if you are not stressed out in CRNA school then there is something wrong. When and if you get to school you will fully grasp the magnitude of what you are going to be doing. This is not a game, its serious and she treats it as such. IMHO, Stress is relative. Some people stress out easily, some don't, just depends on the person. As far as the organization, I cant comment on it to much, but we have over 30 clinical sites which means essentially I don't have to compete with my fellow class mates for cases and such. I have not had a problem since. Honestly, I feel like alot of those people who say such things were dismissed or kicked out for one reason or another and I think they are disgruntled. Its up to you how you wanna interpret it. I would not have moved out here from NY if I thought this program was not good.
