Scranton / Wyoming Valley CRNA program

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello all I have been searching for any information on the University of Scranton/ Wyoming Valley's Nurse Anesthesia program and cannot find any recent posts. Does anyone know anything about this program or interview process?

Also, I noticed that this school is not ranked very high on the US News' ranking of Nurse Anesthesia schools. Does anyone know why some schools are ranked higher than others and do these rankings accurately reflect the quality of the school's education and the school's ability to prepare me to become a great anesthesia provider? I read the rankings with a grain of salt as I believe that with anything in life it is our own responsibility to make the best of any opportunity that we are given - whether it is at the number one school of the last ranked school. Thanks in advance for your help!

Did anyone hear from Scranton? I got the call on Monday from the program director telling me I have been accepted. Has anyone else on hear heard?!?!?!?!? I hope I hear back from some classmates :)

Congrats Jack! Am excited for you. I am just waiting for my small slip in the mail. You know what i mean. But at least you freeing up some space @ the other school. Good luck and well done.

So I interviewed in October and got accepted and decided to attend. I noticed that there is an option to start some classes this spring term... are any of those classes offered on-line? Thanks!

Looks like we'll be classmates :yeah:

I'm from Kansas City so I won't be able to take any classes in the spring, and I'm about 99% positive none are offered online.

PM me if you can, where are you from?

I forgot to ask you when you was your interview date? I interviewed Oct 8th at 12pm.

Yeah no online classes :( I am from AZ originally but have been living and working in Provo for the last 7 years. What part of KC are you from? I've been out that way and lived in Lenexa for a few months

Hey, I live right downtown on 10th st and work at KU. I went to school in Philly and my family is about an hour west of philly. My time here in KC has been great, but I can't frikin wait to get back to the east coast :lol2:

I know quite a few people in the program now, and some who just graduated. All have said not being able to take the classes before the start of the program is fine, and doesn't add to much stress or workload to the curriculum.

Hi cvicurn. Congratulations on ur invitation for an interview at Scranton. I hope u do well. I have also applied to Scranton but I have not heard back about an interview. I really don't know too much about the school. I was attracted to the fact it was 25 months long. Maybe u might have more insight. In any case, best of luck n let me know how things went.
