Pre- CRNA question

  1. Hello everyone. I am new to this community. I have a question if anyone has any suggestions. I am currently an RN preparing myself for CRNA school. I am taking some science courses to help boost my GPA. My question is do CRNA programs look at where you obtained your sciences? Do they prefer 4 year institutions over a junior college. I am trying to decide whether to take my science beginning in jan 2007 at a junior college or a 4 yr college. Of course the junior college is much cheaper, but does the 4 year university look better on paper? Your comments is greatly appreciated.

Are you sure your school will care about your science GPA? None of the schools around here did. They just looked at the BSN GPA. I wouldn't take any science classes unless a school told me to do so in the first place. Just something to consider ...

I don't think schools care whether you took your science classes at a 2yr or 4yr school. I took some classes at a university, some at a community college, and some online. No distinction was made between the three at my interview - they just seemed to look at what the grades were.

Hey piper, was your school a school out of New Jersey? I looked at some programs there as well.

Thank you for the info. I think I will just go to the 2-yr college.

It's Villanova - which is in PA - just west of Philadelphia.
