Kaiser anesthesia (kpsan) 2018

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to start a post for those who are applying for CRNA school at Kaiser. The program is now a DNP. They added one more year and a whopping 60K increase in tuition fee. Having that said, I am still on the process of application (awaiting for 1 more recommendation letter).

I just want a support system since this will be my first time and I really want to be accepted in the program. I am currently living in NY but I would love to move back home (Cali) and I told myself that getting accepted in to the program is the only reason I would go back. -_-

Questions:

1. Did anyone got deterred with the recent changes in the program?

2. Would it be a good year to apply? [first year for DNP]

3. What makes a good candidate? STATS would be appreciated.

My STATS

3.7 GPA

2 YRS CTICU (by the start of program] big academic hospital in NY

1 yr in MICU (LA)

2 YRS MEDSURG (LA)

never the head of a committee but a member .. My stats are not as great as other applicants but still hoping for a shot.

Good luck everyone!

I GOT IN!!! ahhhhhhhhhh!!! only dreamed of this

Alternate list as well... wonder just how many people they place on that list haha. Maybe they say that to everyone. This was the only school I applied to guess I'll have to wait until next year.

I am one of the many I'm sure that are left scratching their head. I unfortunately did not get in. Definitely was trying not to get my hopes up but quickly realized how much I did. I felt like I had a pretty good interview and definitely am qualified. Just going to take it as a learning experience and use what I have learned for the next time around. We are able to contact Michael after March 1st to see how we can improve our chances next year. Looking forward to getting as much information as I can from him to better prepare for next year. Congrats to all of you that made it in. I wish you all success. Some stiff competition.

Everyone seemed like really good candidates on my interview day. I was really hoping to get in as well. I definitely won't be giving up and hopefully can do whatever is needed for next year because one of these days I will get into the kpsa program. Hopefully everyone else that didn't get in keeps their heads up and keeps trying to improve themselves. There's a reason it's one of the most competitive programs clearly. Just going through the interview process was a great learning experience for me and I'll be that much more prepared next time around.

They told us that they were choosing 4-5 alternates and 4-5 would most likely get accepted because people choose different programs. A lot of people in my group were interviewing other places.

Yea I called and found out they have 4 alternates. It would be incredible if there ended up being a spot. If not, then next year will get here soon enough.

Hello,

Has anybody received a confirmation email from Sandra yet regarding admission acceptance?

I emailed her on Tuesday and again on Friday, but I have not heard back from her about how to submit the KPSA deposit.

Should I just wait until 2/22 for more information?

I haven't heard back, neither has the other person I know that accepted a spot.

Just got the call from Sandra that a spot opened up! So happy! Other alternate list people check your e-mail!!!

Congrats @socalRN91! Has anyone made a fb group? I'd love to connect.
