Questions are in the title; I'm just wondering what the average age range for students starting their programs is.

I started at age 29. Most in my class are around 24-27. We have five or so people in their 30's and probably about 3 in their 40's.

Specializes in CRNA.

I was 27 when I began and 30 when I graduated. My class ranged from 24-mid 40s, with most students starting in the 27-29 age range.

Specializes in Anesthesia.

34 when I started and will be 36 when I graduate. most in my class are 27-30 and have some outliers both ways though ie, 23yr old and a couple of 40+.

Specializes in ICU.

29 here, just started. People in my class are from 23 to maybe late 40s ( a couple maybe). The average is about 30 I think.

How do you get into CRNA school at 23?!

Specializes in ICU.

ADN at age 21. work in ICU after grad while working on BSN. I applied to CRNA school after 1 yr in ICU at age 22 and started CRNA school at 23. This kid is the most intelligent person I've ever met. I guess that's what happens When you stick to your plans early in life.

I'm guessing he/she had a 4.0 GPA, perfect GRE, no family/dependencies, high-acuity ICU experience, and good letters of recommendation, all on top of knowing what they wanted to do from the get-go.

Yup!! The experience was not high acuity though. But he knows theories more than any nurse with 15 yrs bedside experience.

I'm guessing that means book smarts. Knows the answers to questions about receptor activation, etc.

I'm 27 as a first year. Most of us are probably in the 26-30 range, though there are more than a few 30+ and 40+, and a handful of 50+. And, of course, the one token 24-year-old.

Specializes in Neurosurgical ICU.

I was 24. Most in my class range from 24-47 with an even bell curve distribution.
