How much does your school cost? I'll go first.

I go to UPenn. Tuition is $125,000.00. If you add cost of living for the 24 month program it is more like $175,000.00. With interest for Grad Plus loans at around 7.5% I'm looking at $30,000.00 in interest conservatively.

That doesn't include books, equipment, licenses, background checks, mandatory drug screenings, and commuting. I would tack on another $5,000.00 - $7,500.00.

The reason I'm bringing this up is that many RN's are so anxious to get into school that they forget to ask how much it costs until it's tool late. We all want so badly to be CRNA's and we wind up paying more than we ever imagined in lost wages, tuition, and interest. The margin between how much it costs to attend school and salaries/benefits we enjoy is narrowing. The schools don't really advertise these costs either.

Also, as a culture I believe we should put our cards on the table concerning money and salaries more often. I don't think it's in bad taste. It only HELPS us all to know how much the next guy is paying and making so that we have more bargaining power!

72k tuition..plus at least 60k in living etc..and 35k in loans already..don't even know is crna is financially savy anymore..I'm starting UM in august.

University of Maryland: Out of state tuition about 70K, but if I can get in state tuition after the first year, then it would be about 50k in tuition. Will try to keep COL as low as possible at about 20k-25K. All in all, I would probably graduate with 100k or less. I still have 15k in student loans from undergrad, so it should be interesting when it comes time to pay back!

115K in student loans sounds HEFTY, but when you think of the rewards, it's all worth it. I was looking over at the SDN forums and there are PhamD students with student loans in the 200's and dentistry students with loans in the 300s It's all relative to earning potential at the end.

Buffalo tuition is 30k as OUT OF STATE for 28 months one of my main reasons for going there n cost of living is cheap in upstate NY. I was surprised to hear school parking is FREE. I had to call the school to make sure... Lol

Minneapolis School of Anesthesia, class of 2013, and the tuition is $33,000 for the 27 months, and that includes books, and such. I am probably looking at an additional $40,000 for living expenses, and save what I don't spend and pay that back right away with whatever money I have left. I also have to pay for parking every clinical day. You do have to think of the little costs that will add up, and whatever bills you might have throughout the program.

Hi. I had applied to Upenn and now those numbers seem so daunting, but I suppose worth it in the end. How do you like UPenn?? Do you believe it is giving you the experience and education that you need. And do you like the social/community aspect of the program/area? Any info would be greatly appreciated :D

holy cow that's a lot of money! I took the entire list of all schools in the country and started weeding them out-one of my top items was money. If it was over a certain amount I cut the school out immediately-however I am currently the only income earner in my family and have a bunch of kids. Loans are only gonna support us in the program so far, and I can't come out too deep in debt. I want to enjoy life after graduating, not have to work crazy to pay it all back. But I might be in a different situation and older than many of you.

Inter American University, Hatillo Puerto Rico checking in - Entire program $11,000!

Northeastern University- standard tuition about 60,000, however with all of the hidden fees/books, closer to 90,000. I owe 40,000 on undergrad and will come out owing about 130,000. On the plus side, some employers have offered some loan repayment options. and there is always looking into the military- the Army offers up to 110,000 dollars for a 6 year commitment with deployments only lasting 90 days- the debt is ridiculous but I hear the career is worth the sacrifice (I'll let you know when I finally graduate).
