They may look more favorably upon shadowing experience with CRNAs.

My good friend was initially rejected from his first choice with a reason that his shadowing experience was with a MDA instead of a CRNA. Luckily for him, someone who was offered a spot rejected it and he was subsequently offered the spot.

I agree with Reno, you need to shadow a CRNA. I shadowed one for 40 hours.

Reno/Sedatetime. That makes sense and I've decided to set up some OR observation time with a CRNA. Thanks.

Best of luck to you! I'm fixing to start reviewing for the GRE and will start applying next year for admissions in 2013.

thanks, same to you. Good luck on the GRE. Get the kaplan books and you will be fine!

Your grades and GRE scores are similar to mine. I had 1 more year of ICU experience when I first started applying. So far I was offered an interview at every school that I've applied to (total of 6 schools over the past two years). I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem for you to receive interview invitations. The main issue is getting accepted. As you know schools are extremely competitive. The few schools that I've interviewed at accepts only about 15 to 30% of the the number of people they interview. So your best bet is putting in a lot of applications to different places, do well in your interview, and hope for the best. That's my strategy and I hope to hear some good news soon. Good luck to you :)

Did you ever get into any school?

I won't find out until the end of the year.

If you don't mind me asking where were applying to schools? South Florida, North East, West Coast? So the first year that you applied you got interviews but did not get into any school?

I was rushed into applying the first year. At the time of my interview, I was taking my last class for BSN completion. I only interviewed at one school in the same state as I'm in. I didn't get into that one. I received an interview offer at another east coast school, but I declined the interview because financially I was not ready to make a move like that if I were accepted. This year I applied to a couple different schools on the east coast and a few in midwest. I only applied to schools that accept a small number of students. Maybe it's harder to get into smaller schools or maybe it's not. But either way, I'm not sure if I can get the personal attention/experience from a school that accepts 100+ students a year. Are you also applying to schools right now?
