Choosing the right program

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

This is my first post. I am in a slight dilemma and would greatly appreciate some insight....

I've been accepted to both Barry University and University of South Carolina. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they've heard about these programs. Clinical experiences, classes, preparedness post graduation, difficulty of program, etc.

I live on the west coast and don't hear the word of mouth things that I might hear if I lived on the east coast. Any info would be extremely helpful as I need to make a decision soon.

Thanks!!!

Hi,

I live in Florida, I have also been accepted to Barry and start and January. I have two friends in the Barry program, one is in the third semester and one graduates in April. They both have nothing but good things to say about the program, they are in two different clinical sites and both get tons of cases of all differing degress of anesthesia. I also know two Barry grads, they both said they felt they very well prepared upon graduation and both passed boards with no problem.

I have been told by all four that the first two semesters are the hardest as they entail a majority of the didactic learning. I have shadowed some CRNA's and SRNA's at Barry clinical sites, the staff are more than excited to have the SRNA's there and treat them with nothing but respect and are always open to questions, assisting, etc.

Hope this little bit of info helps....maybe I'll see you in Janurary.
