Baylor & UT Houston CRNA 2018

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hey! I did not see a thread for nurses applying to Baylor's CRNA program for 2018 so I decided to start one.I am applying to Baylor and UTHSC - Houston for classes starting in 2018. I have been watching these blogs for three years now, and I cannot believe I am ready to apply. I think my stats are average and am hoping to snag an interview. I taught high school for 8 years and have a MA in Math Education. 2nd career nurse! I am on here everyday. Hopefully some of us will be classmates in the future.

GPA: 3.4

GRE: 297 (yep taking this again before applications are due)

CVICU: 1 year 6 months to date (I will have 2 years when I submit my application)

I am also applying as well!

GPA: 3.8

GRE: 310

Experience: CVICU 2 years

I'm applying too. still about to take the GRE in April this year. GPA average experience in CVICU 10 years and countng. experience is about the only thing I have n my favor since I usually do not do well in standardized tests. I was surprised I passed the CCRN at all. I'm hoping to be lucky enough to be chosen for 2018. Being a foreign graduate, Baylor would not even consider me. So, I'm setting my hopes on either Wesleyan or UTHSC. I've been reading several comments from past years. I'm curious to meet applicants and hopefuls like me.

Specializes in ICU, NICU.

Hey,

I am also a prospective foreign applicant. Where are you from? I'm planning for the gre in April as well. High school math is a long ways away...

I graduated from the Philippines. The CRNA that I shadowed happened to be a foreign graduate as well. She too felt that it was her calling and encouraged me to apply so here I am.

I had been stalking these forums for years too! I was finally ready to apply this year, but so many of my friends that applied got rejected with stats much better than mine. So I am a bit discouraged to say the least. I am not sure what it is they are looking for in a successful candidate. I am still working on building my applications in the meantime. Very best of luck to all.

I just went to the Information Session of Baylor college of Medicine, and they mentioned that they won't accept foreign graduates. I don't know about UT though.

Hi all,

I will be applying to both programs this July. Best of luck to all!
