Anyone applying to Drexel, Excela, Villanova, or Tornetta for 2013?

Hello,

I just sent off my application for , Excela Health, Villanova, and Frank J. Tornetta School of Anesthesia for their 2013 class. I was really surprised how early they were taking applications for 2013 but since they do rolling admissions, I guess it's more of a first come first served basis if you meet the criteria. I was told they have already filled the seats for their 2012 class already. I am so excited. The program coordinators and directors from all 4 programs were very nice on the phone and very encouraging. I am applying to the Post-Masters Anesthesia program since I have my MSN in Nursing Education. I was told the schools will conduct interviews in the spring (2011). I was told if you were called for an interview, it indicates a very good chance you would be accepted into the program. I am so nervous. Is anyone else applying for the 2013 class at these schools?

In 2012, I am planning to apply to East Carolina, University of Maryland, St. Mary's University in Minnesota, and SUNY at Buffalo. The good thing is that these schools are not close to taking applications for 2013, which allows me to set aside the money for the application fees, which quickly add up. Some anesthesia programs that are at hospitals require you to pay an application fee to them as well as the University they are affiliated with also.

It would be nice to hear from other potential applicants for 2013.

HI. Do you mind sharing your stats? I was trying to reside in FL. However, I've just starting looking at schools in the PHL area, being as though my family is in NJ

Good luck on your interview. I start Villanova in 2012

Any suggestions on interview please

I booked to say at villanova conference center because I'm from va is crozer on the campus or further

Just the basic questions why villanova? Why do you want to be a crna? How do you plan to pay for school? Know your hemodynamic values and your vasoactive drug. They will also ask about the typical pt of your unit and the sickest patient you ever had. There are also some leadership questions they ask.

Crozier is not on the campus or near it for that matter. I believe most of the classes are taught at crozier. I'm not sure where the conference center is, but the interview is at crozier.

I just received an invitation to interview with Drexel University. So far, out of 4 schools I have applied to, I have 3 interviews scheduled. The last school, Excela Health, said they would start lookig at 2013 applicants next year with interviews being conducted around Aug 2012. I got my fingers crossed. Anyone else attending the Open House at Drexel University this Thursday?

Well, this is refreshing to hear since I am applying to Excela for the 2013 class. I won't be able to submit my application until the early part of next year.

Hi Everybody,

Just got my official acceptance letter to Drexel University Nurse Anesthesia program. I have accepted the offer. Will be starting in January 2013 class. I am so excited. I wish everybody luck on their journey to admission. I still have an interview with Villanova and Tornetta in May and I am trying to decide if I should still go or not since I paid an awful lot for the application fees. Should I or shouldn't I since I know for sure I will be attending Drexel's program. One of the other students that interviewed the same day I did also got into the program. I know they have another round of interviews in June for the Jan 2013 class as well. Good luck everybody.

Wow!! They are already filling seats for 2013?? SMH!

SRNA4u I got that same message about there being only 5 slots available. Well I applied in August, interviewed in November, and I am in for 2013! They didnt mention the open house in my interview, though I did attend. Interestingly, at the open house, during introductions (we had to stand and introduce ourselves), after I introduced myself, Professor Conti rattled off a few things from my resume as if he had just studied it. My point is go to the open house with your A-game. You are always interviewing, even when you think you arent. Also a yes in 2014 is better than no yesses at all! Take what you can until you hear a better answer.

2014 isn't that far away and if you haven't been saving your pennies, its likely your BEST BET.

Wanna Pass - yes they do bump students up if the students are ready!
