Is anyone applying to the CRNA program at Arkansas State University in 2017?

Were you given a number on the list? I wonder how this works, first I'm hearing of an alternate list though she did say they were playing it by ear so who knows.

I was not given a number on the list. The email read: "The admission committee has recommended you to our alternates list..." I know of one other person that they emailed is on the alternates list.

Congratulations on getting on the alternate list. Still no email replies back here or calls.....

I got a letter in the mail today informing me that I did not get accepted into the program. Best of luck to everyone!

Did anyone hear anything as far as getting accepted or not?

Has anyone from the alternate list heard anything?

I'm on the alternate list and have not heard anything.....ugh

To all my fellow "alternate list" people....has anyone heard anything regarding acceptance?or when we should hear something?

I reached out to Dr. Black. I'll let you guys know what she says.

Thanks!!!! I emailed Shelly and she responds that they don't have any sort of timeline they are following and she couldn't provide any extra info at this time (this was about 2 days ago). I didn't email Dr. Black...so I'm Def interested to hear what she says! I wonder how many of us are on the alternate list!

Sorry this is an old thread, curious if I could get general profiles of those applying. I am just curious if I even have a shot. My last 90 credits I got a 3.7 GPA, problem is my first two years I played lacrosse for my university, had no goals, and just goofed around. ( I have 2 B.S. degrees, Exercise Phys, and BSN) Needless to say I got put on academic probation, and had to take several science classes over which then averages out to a 2.95. My overall gpa is 3.3, those first two years killed me. My first semester I had a 1.9. So it was bad, really bad. GRE is 311, did well on quantitative and writing, but verbal I got like a 147 on verbal. 3 years ICU exp, I have shadowed several people, have great letters of rec, and have taken two graduate level science courses from Gonzaga and have gotten A's in both of those classes. Curious if CRNA is really even a possibility. I don't really want to have to take another 4 classes to get into school, Im getting old (32) and have 3 kids, so I don't want to delay getting in too much longer. Just want honest replies because if CRNA is going to take two more years to get into, then I might have to see if DNP in cardiology ( I am in a CVICU, which I really like cards) is the better way to go. Thanks so much.

@CRNAsomeday1 I honestly think that you would have a chance at getting an interview and possibly an acceptance if you do well in the interview ! Besides the GPA issue you actually have a really good chance. Please don't sell yourself short by not applying. You need to go ahead and apply. Once you get into that room, you can explain them first two years of not applying yourself like you should and you have proof that you are better now and way more focused ! A lot more people have that issue than you think. Now once you get into that interview room they are definitely going to grill you on your previous GPA, because they look at every single factor but that's when you have to sell yourself to them. I can't stress this enough, don't waste anymore time listening to people say you have to retake this and retake that. You have wonderful letters of recommendation, shadowing experience, you've taken graduate level science courses & your GRE is pretty good. You have more things going for you than you have stacked against you, okay. Do you have your CCRN already ? What type of graduate level science classes did you take ? Good luck on your journey.
