UofT NP 2017 Fall Admission

Hello!

Applied to the UofT Primary Care NP Program for September 2017 entry. Haven't heard back yet. Has anyone heard from UofT who has applied to any of the 3 NP streams?

Trying to be patient, but not succeeding.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide insight, good or bad.

I'm very sorry, I can't answer your question. But I was hoping maybe you could answer one of mine? I haven't started my BSN yet (about to graduate with a bachelors then I will do an accelerated BSN hopefully at UofT). Not sure if you did your BSN at UofT, but I plan to get a BSN and then a masters to become an NP. The thing that worries me is that the masters usually requires a very high GPA to get in and I heard the accelerated programs are incredibly tough. In my experience in undergrad, many people's marks just come down to luck or how well they write papers and not necessarily how often they study. So I am wondering, if I study a lot, I can obtain a high GPA (3.7+) in my BSN? Sorry, I know this doesn't answer your question (although if it helps, I DO know that UofT is sending admission offers out for their BSN program already). But I saw "UofT" and "Nurse Practitioner" and thought perhaps I would be able to get some insight here.

Hi,

I did my Undergrad at UWO so I cannot speak to the ability to get a 3.7 GPA from the accelerated BScN at UofT. My experience at UWO was that it was very achievable to aim for a 3.7 GPA given that you are willing to put in the time and dedication.

If your end goal is to become a NP I would also suggest volunteering and getting involved in some extracurriculars as pretty much of the candidates who apply to NP school meet or exceed the minimum GPA requirements. Volunteer experience, extracurriculars and continuing education are what can help set you apart from the crowd.

Hope that helps a bit, although I haven't received acceptance to my NP Program of choice quite yet so you can take what I say with a grain of salt ;)

Good luck!

Thanks for the info! Fortunately, right now I have TONS of volunteer experience and may soon have a paper published in a journal! I am a hard worker so hoping I will be able to achieve a 3.7! I will do a lot of studying before I begin the program to prepare. Thanks again (and sorry I am unable to answer your original question :p )

Hi, I just wonder if you got an offer and become an NP now? I’ve applied for U of T NP Program. However, I can’t find any information about the acceptance rate, number of application ... etc... I would appreciate it if you could share your experience at U of T.
