I am very interested in this program and will be applying this fall. Just wanted to know what everyone thought of the application process, in terms of competitiveness? I will probably end up applying to both ASU and U of A, U of A is definitely my first choice. Any advice? Congratulations, I hope to be where you all are in a year!

I don't think they turned anyone down. I was accepted but chose another school over it. From what I've heard, you had to have some sort of criminal record to not get in. Application is basic, no interviews, I think we wrote a couple paragraph essay (which I doubt they evaluated). They won't tell you how many people are in the cohort. I have heard its around 160 admitted this year (my friend was accepted). I don't think there has been one person on this board who applied and was rejected.

I wonder how the program runs with so many accepted. It's pretty much all online so maybe that's why they are able to accept so many. I was planning on applying to more schools just in case though! What other schools did you apply to and end up selecting? I figured U of A would be a great school considering their primarily ground BSN program and their medical schools are both highly ranked.

That was with phd students added in too. It's a large cohort. I applied to Utah and Duke, chose Duke.

Oh, I see. Well, I am hoping that the people who got in will share their experiences. There are so many options since the DNPs are all online, you really have to do research on which ones are worth the money! Are you from AZ? With Duke, do you need to find your own preceptors? Thanks for all your info!

The admissions process has been... Okay. They are a little disorganized and state that it is due to their "systems changing". I've had issues with the registrar, tuition billing, email... Pretty much everything. There are a lot of options for a DNP, and as it gets closer to the start date I am REALLY wondering if I made the right choice. The total out of pocket for the program is about 70K and I'm really not sure if that is worth it. I emailed a lady about scholarships and she was COMPLETELY unhelpful, she gave me federal loan information (which for those of us career students is common knowledge) and when I redirected her attention from loans to grants and scholarships she pretty much told me to "google it"... I also only know one person who was turned down (criminal record)... I am starting to wonder the direction that the program is going. I know U of A has a prestigious medical program and nursing program but I am getting the vibe from the DNP program that maybe quality isn't as much of a priority?

Was anyone offered a scholarship of any kind when they were admitted to the DNP program?

I was offered a scholarship when I was accepted. And I had a friend who was accepted who wasn't offered anything. I know a couple of people currently in the program and they like it. I do t know why the admission process is the way it is but I haven't heard people complain for feel like it hasn't been a good education.

I don't know the name, it's a $5500 scholarship that I was automatically given. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

For those of you who are enrolled in the BSN-DNP program, what do you think so far? I will be finishing my BSN by next year and I want to apply for the Fall 2014 semester. How was orientation and what do you think of the classes? Are the instructors helpful? I appreciate any feedback as I am deciding which programs I want to apply to.

I was accepted into this program for Fall 2014, how has the first year been for you all? Harder/easier than you thought? Are you working during program? Any trouble finding preceptors?
